evets (21500km): Lilacs WA MistralSL91 pepesuperweed 27 TR16 7.0 forecast looked good for a distance day, Shane and Jeremy were up for a sail so let's go! Went for the hour straight away, initially a bit under powered and then last 20 minutes having a bit of a challenge to keep the nose of the board down. Hoped for a 25 and that is what I got. Fell at the 30 minute mark and failed to get going immediately. A lot more was up for grabs but my lack of sailing and exercise resulted in lower fitness than needed. Tried a NM with same sail and JP54SP with FF20. not quicker. Then put on 6.3 but lack of fitness meant I decided to stop. Some great numbers should come from the many sailors out today, wind was building as I left. Top 5 hour is nice, better was avaiable but I did not have the fitness or recent sailing to capitalise on the conditions. And that is a top 5 hour, I like that. It gives me an top 5 in 2009,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19. That means something. Answers about what it means please, on a postcard to I've got nothing better to do than philosophise about GPSTC data Parliament house Perth 6000 Happy Christmas everybody.

This summer of discontent continued in the form of a very westerly and weak sea breeze. It will be nice to have a high pressure system ridge in further south for a change. The result was underdone power wise, but enough to have an enjoyable session. Funnest part was trying to keep up with Iain. I could just keep up with him on the straights but got my arse whipped raw on the gybes. I am spitting chips I didn’t have the camera on because it was great watching Iain using all of his forty or so kilos to do a masterful job of keeping his formula board under control on the reaches. Saddest part was yet again watching Remery attempting to sail his tiny Windtech in bugger all breeze. Gotta love his unflagging optimism….
No smooth anywhere, but twas really nice to have a splash and toodle around the paddocks. Top Ten Fangy Day. | ||||||||||||||||||

Very happy that I made the correct call & booked 6hrs off work this afternoon
Arrived to see a posse of Pinnas & outnumbered locals Shane & Steve.
Rigged smaller than everyone else & it certainbly worked for the Hour, which I'm stoked with!! Probably cost me a bit as har as the NM & speed but still it was a great arvo on the water that's for sure.
What a great way to spend the afternoon, lots of smiling faces & quite a few Top 5's & PB's. As Stroppo & Fangy say Happy Days & defo a Top 10 Day
Huge congrats to the Team Pinnaroo who will have made catching them a really really difficult task. Well deserved for all the effort everyone has put in

Elmo (31542km): JP Slalom 71, NP RSR E7 7.0m Pepe wed 27cm You can have top ten days then you have days where you are looking for a box of matches so as you can torch the lot. Today was the latter. Nice wind today, took of on my first run, thinking that I've selected the right kit, half way accros snap a harness line, finish the run, then sail back to change lines. Job done, head out again, sail across get peak speed but things noot feeling right, shift mast base, winds backing of a bit, sail across and back things feel worse, shift the base back again, sail back across, things are definately not right wind is not feeling as good, decide to go the top run on out haul. Let the outhaul of look at the front of the sail and it's almost at 90º's top te boom, that doen't look right, look down brand new formula line not where it's supposed to be, BUGGER end knot came undone, Tack strap only thing holding the sail in position, lots of fun to undo fully loaded. Fix the rope issue, downhaul but the top two cams have popped of.. on the wrong side. To fix, tie the board to the downhaul rope by wrapping 5 times around the foot strap, go to try and get cams on, look up to see baard drift off. Chase after like an old unfit bugger and retrieve, tie proper knots this time. Faff around and evenytually get cams back on finish the reassembly. Chugg back half way back then sail back to shore. Give up in digust, gear saved by not carrying matches in car. Spent more time today fixing things than sailing. Good to see Peter HArdz Strop Paul Mike and Gav having fun out there, I did have a couple of nice runs so it wasn't all bad. Good to see the Albanakastani's having a great day | ||||||||||||||||||
