Liptons, Mistral 137, SV M2 7.0, Pepe 28

Mild weather sail with Hardie, Dr Cam from FNQ and Elmo. Not that much wind, but steady enough not to be frustrating, so quite a pleasant sail. Too shallow on Pt Grey for me to get into the flat stuff with my fin, so had to play at the tip of the bank.

Sailed down to have a look at the shallows at Boombas, which look pretty good, although I didn't go into them due to not having a suitably short delta fin. Breeze was surprisingly steady coming off the shore, much better than I expected, so quite promising for the future.

OK over the sand bar in places but had to be careful.

Good to see Anita and her brood of Australia Day ducklings.

Melville Beach, WA, AU is107 6.2K, 24 FF

A quick late afternoon sail at Melville trying out Tim's 107.

Warm sunny and gusty as usual. I was going to rig the 7 but then the wind picked up so I went for the 6.2 which was OK.

The board needed a bigger fin (and a better rider). It felt so much wider than my 111 and was hard to keep the board trimmed properly.

The ducklings enjoyed their Australia Day outing. Dabbles couldn't take his eye off the windsurfing long enough to pose for a photo

What do you reckon about tomorrow Pacey? I wasn't confident enough to invest petrol money today.

I'm not at all optimistic Rob, none of the forecasts that count (Meteye, Predictwind) are looking that good any more. My guess is 18 knots if we are lucky.

Nice sail at dutchies with Andrew,JJ and Kenny from the Pinnas, Claude, Jesper, Blair and a few others. Rekon we need another category in the GPSTC, Forward Loops, Kenny was just going for them, one just as I was on one on one side and Claude coming in from the other side, Kenny pulls this forward and nails it. Really thought he was going to face plant but he pulls a speculator forward. Was the highlight of the day.

Nice one Pacey.

Dutchies, Oz Day. Stayed well away from foilville and the festivities on Swan today. Went for a light wind sail at Dutchies with Boz, Tailwind and Claude.Wind was about 15-19 when I got out. First time to loop on the Slalom board. No GPS watch as I didnt want to damage it doing jumps. Good to see Neil is on the mend.
