tailwind (7504km): Point Walter, WA, AU Always great to get out for an early morning sail. Too strong for the foil first up so a short go on the slalom gear then switched to the foil to finish off. | ||||||||||||||||||
Boz (47027km): ![]() Albany, WA, AU The day that nearly didn't happen. Woke up at 4:30 with good intentions to meet Mark at Albany for a light wind sail compared to Thurs, wind prediction was for 15-20 wih gusts to 25. Well day didn't start well, Ribs tender and hand swollen from the Thursday wipe out and was not up to going, took a couple of Nurofen and back to sleep till 5:30 with the intention of calling Mark up and pyking out. Well did get up made a coffee shook off the i'm too sore to sail, packed the car up a quick stop for some nails for the coffin and off for a four and a half hour drive. At Williams a txt comes through from Partner in Crime Mark, CARS GETTING BLOWN ALL OVER THE ROAD, ok it's windy so I'm feeling a bit better that it won't be a light wind session. Quick stop into Bunnings Albany, grabbed a few extra bolts for the fin and off course gaffer tape for my feet "I'm a tight arse and believe gaffer tape is better than surgical tape. Arrived to find Morts and Woody with big grins and she is blowing a good 20 already, A quick assesment and decided to go for efficiency rather than brute force so the gear comes out Manta 54 KAR 5.5 and for the first time a CL 14Delta, wow what a fin, held really well going upwind to the NM run and in the smooth what can I say, go and buy one even if you only use it once a year it'll put the biggest smile on your dial. Board setup mast track was as far as it could go, Boom raised it another 70mm from where I sail normally, Sail bagged out to the max, was hard getting back up wind but was worth it. I had intentions of doing an Hour and Alphas but that changed as soon as I got to the NM run, just epic day for quick runs in the smooth and then a couple NM thrown in. The rest went by the wayside I could have stayed there till the cows came home it was that good for Albany. Great people with the Albany crew out in force smiles on dials everywher, Elmo I'm itching to see his NM with the big 7.0 sail, Mark just a grin from side to side. It is defo the best speed sailing day to date with no carnage just smooth water. Could have done with a bit more wind as the 5.5 was comfortable but that can be another day. Thanks guys was great sharing an epic day in Albany. YeaHar as snake would say Great sesh with the albany boys, Elmo and partner in crime Mark, , more later food and a cold beer first.

Woody-Mark (16200km): ![]() Albany, WA, AU I left the JP50 speed and the 59 Manta at home expecting only moderate wind so had only the 61Manta to play with or the 66. So it was the 61 with the Vapor 6.4 and Delta 18. Got plenty of runs in the smooth near the top weed bank but could'nt quite get the 40 2sec. only a 40 peak. Tried the 16 delta which was .05 faster than the 18. Happy to get the speeds with the bigger board today and then tried some Alphas before packing up and heading home. Awsome to sail with Boz, Evets,, Elmo, Shane and Morts. Huge session from all and look forward to all the posts. Magic day. Never leaving without the speedboard to Lilacs again. |
