Nice place this Albany! great rigging area, consistent breeze and friendly locals. flat water sailing for the flat water princess!! arrived around lunchtime and on the big gear till the breeze slowly picked up then on the mistral. its on for tomorrow too. woo hoo

Very enjoyable sail at the spit, wind was a bit up & down but it was happy days for me. I did try a few bearaways but soon realised it wasn't worth the effort, much better enjoying the smooth chasing mates. Very happy with new sail. At the end I got the drone out and chased Ian, I'll sort the video out and upload in the next couple of days Smile

Just a warning that there is something below the surface towards the to end of the mm run, probably about 3/4 of the way up. I clipped it going up but thought it was a ray, did more than clip it on the way down which resulted in an unplanned ejection

Massive thanks to Slugger for all his help!

Firstly sorry to hear about your injury Morts, hopefully a speedy recovery, and secondly I think we need a working bee to find and mark or remove that obstacle.

Peter, sensational, I looked at your Top 5's and they're almost all 2020's

Lombok well done, you've got the bug

Windxtasy

WA

Morts, sorry to hear your injury was nasty. Such bad luck to clip the thing twice, when others have obviously been sailing around it for ages, unless it has only just been dropped there. I guess you were too injured to check what it was.

That is three sets of fractured ribs in this competition - two weeks - you, me and sboardcrazy.

Sailing in shallow water is good for speed but it is dangerous.

Hoping you heal up quickly.

When you are well enough, can you post your track so we can see where this thing is?

Hey Morts. Sorry to hear about your dismount and wish you a quick recovery mate. Scary to think we've all missed this object whilst enjoying the NM feast. Hopefully the perpertrator can be identified. Well done on your PB's Lombok and Waricle. Lilacs is definately the place to get your PB groove on.

Anita, Jeremy's track is on KA72 https://www.ka72.com/Track/t/421209

Looks like he just missed the object when he was doing the NM he completed (light blue), the tracks are only about 18" apart at that point.

Morts

It's where the upwind leg intersects the aborted NM as best I can tell.

Apologies I should have put the link in earlier

Brilliant hour Simon, well done mate 🙂. I had missed that there was wind in Albany while I was at work and had not seen the posts. Horrified to hear about Jeremy’s injuries. Shane and I are hatching a plan to go out with kayaks tomorrow and see if we can find the problem item.

Steve/Shane, I've just overlayed Simon's tracks on Jeremy's. he missed the obstacle by less than 1.5m on the west side, and Jeremy missed it on his NM run by less than half a metre on the east side. So it's small and not easily seen. I hope you have no trouble finding it.
