Christchurch Estuary, then harbour.  Had a go on Robs ship and his 7.8m in light winds. Yep.

Took to harbour in afternoon.  Frustratingly light, sailed below the marker again.  Dan lent me his 135L Foilboard and used my 6.5m sail.  Finally trucking upwind.  Couple of runs and happy.  Bring on the wind Sunday.

Estuary am and Harbour pm.

Drifted about in the estuary in zippo wind and then foiled on Terry's Slingshot in the harbour in 15-20?kts with a 4.5 raf.

Amazing how little sail power these foils will fly in although I tested it to the max when the wind died and I had to grovell upwind from Corsair Bay to get back home, no wind and only 4.5 and still they go upwind on the lift from that 90cm long mast.

I turned my GPS off by mistake somewhere so the kms are about 10 light.

Foiled on friday also, first foiling since the ankle break so I feel like a truck ran me over today.

Slingshot is a nice foil for old farts who don't need to go fast.

It won't win races but even with a small sail, it will stay flying down to 6-8kts board speed and it is very happy going 10-14kts.
