Boombas with the Druids and the ADHD kid Lombok, who went through more board changes than Liz Taylor had hubbies,... and was grinning the whole time regardless. I broke out my small boom for the first time since forever and paid a price for the neglect. My harness lines had decided to take the form of the ABC logo after being hit by a small truck. I absolutely exhausted myself sailing around trying to hook in, and missing the hook up despite pelvic thrusting like a drunk teenager. So from a results point of view it was a bit of a disaster, from an exercise point of view it was A Top ten, but mostly, it was just great listening to the Druids and Lombok whoop with delight at some impressive turns of speed in choppy conditions.

Point Grey, WA, AU Boombas Naish sp110, Mistral speed 95 Koncept 5.4 and fangy 22, 20

much happier on mistral as it was getting lumpy as the wind came in. Just a short sail to save myself for tomorrow too

Mike, Ross and Vic out too and we all agreed it was nice to have some wind for a changeSmile

Good to see Ross out there blasting and Cheers to Pete and Mike for allowing me to go for a run on their boardsSmileheaps of funSurprisedwith the short sharp chop making things just that little more exhilarating...

Boombas with Lombok, Fangy and Waricle. wind very light on arrival but forecast to pick up quickly, so took a gamble on the 5.0, but started with the new 55cm board with the 23cm 40/60 weedy, to get me through the lulls. Not that many lulls, by the time I hit the water I was pretty well lit and no flat water that I could find.

Very pleased with the NM, guess I was just following the chop lines downwind, not a big bear off, about the same angle as my upwind track.

After finding no flat water I headed back, and spotted what I thought was Lombok and Fangy further over in the bay. Fangy appeared to be flying down wind, and just kept going. So I thought they had found flat water in the bay. So I changed course slightly and went to join them. Found Lombok working his way back upwind, he informed me that Fangy flying downwind was actually a boat, and there was no flat water that he could find either.

So we headed back and I had lunch and changed down to the new 48cm board (well I say new, it's 2 years old now). Lomback then decided to try and beat us all by using our speed boards, which he well and truly did. It was just too choppy out there for me to really go for it.

     Fangys....

It was a great day to have gotten out for a windsurf, but that stuuuped sail Yoyo gave me was a bugger.???

I was having problems rigging it, and then it "did my back in". Straind it while setting the downhaul... it needs too much.???

So I did not want to stress my back any more.... end of this tail.!!!  Frown

It did look like the guy were havaing fun.    Smile

Leschenault, WA, AU. FF89/KAR5.5/MUF Delta. Sailing with Rat right up the north end of the inlet, walking in off Buffalo Road. Started off with a normal fin and that was hopeless, GAF wind, weed and black mud made it very hard to get going. Swapped over to my Tribalised MUF and was able to get going, though the gusty winds still made it pretty hard work.  Packing up, pulled off my wetsuit and there was black primordial ooze everywhere, what a mess! First time sailing off Buffalo Rd and probably my last!

Chook pond with Jake and Kaos 5.5 and Missile 49 Great work out with plenty of wind but very hard to find some flat water. Enjoyed the white out and 40knots gusts as we were heading out.

Fangy, I thought the higlight of your day would be escaping unscathed from my attempt to drown you. I'll have to get you when you aren't looking next time.

I was counselling a client just before and the fury of the gusts were so strong they were shaking my brick house, and then I noticed the client had said to me "You look as white as a Ghost Are you OK?" and all I could muster was "Squeak, Squeak"

Thanks guys, I think I'm starting to teach the new board how to gybe, the extra straight rocker can catch if it's banked to hard from too far forward, it sends you in a straight line. But if you get it right, that straighter rocker line will hold it's speed better through the turn.
