A quick session at Fangyland with Frank. Both of us rigged when the breeze was showing 20-25 knots. Unfortunately, it was also at about the time Cap'n Calm chucked the small kit in the the wagon, so by the time Frank and I hit the water, we were woefully underpowered then overpowered then underpowered then overpowered then underpowered.... I had gone with The BargeII, Koncept 6.6, FF24 mod; big board and fin to deal with the chop and lulls, and small sail so I could hang on. This sort of worked when a burst would come through and we could get planing, plus the occasional bullet that handed out a splat flat on to the mat. Just to spice things up a bit more, the tide was high, with no weed in sight and it was a deadset chopfest. Gee, I miss the weed. Still, the water was cool, the exercise was refreshing and it was waay better than study - which I have to get back to now...

Peel Inlet, WA, AU Xfire 114, sp110 Koncept 6.2 tws 31

Very enjoyable sail with the crew in variable conditions, firstly went out on 110 and when the wind dropped after lunch changed to 114 so straight away the wind picked up. Copped a fin in the face after it cought on a harness line and flipped over in a gust. not too deep fortunately but my complection is no longer flawless.

Wow that's a change, a Mandurah Mob dominance Me, Lombok, Waricle, Sretch, (there's your problem Fangy), Rocky and Rayman. 6 of us to one lonely pesky, Pacey by name.

High tide, gusty wind, so only flat stuff was in the big lulls and in the wind shadows at either point.

So floaty board and not too big a sail was the order of the day. I went with the new 55, Vic took out the old 53. I had initially thought the 5.2 would be big enough so stuck in the 23@40/60. But then I decided I'd only be going in the gusts, so went with the 5.7 koncept. This worked OK didn't grovel too much and was never compelely overpowered. But after lunch the wind had dropped a bit so just stuck the 26@45 in. This was much better in the lighter wind, so did a few runs across the channel trying to decide if point grey or liptons had the best run. It was one of those days when the wind wasn't getting into either all that well.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU. FF89/SCR6.3  First sail in Mandurah since Covid hit. Great day, a few lulls, but mostly pretty good wind. Not much in the way of flat, but still great fun. Good mob of mobbers in attendance, with Pacey the one lonely pesky Cool
