Forecast was N 30knots increasing to N 40 with rain.

I was keen to get the W49 out on the water again and I broke my golden rule of rigging for the condtions and not for the forecast.

The forecast was a dud Cry

Got some practise at using the W49 in 10 to 23knots, so it was good experience, but hard work and upto my waist in water while riding the board in the lulls. The IS87 would have been faster and easier, but a 6.6m would have been more ideal.

Nelson - Ackersten St, low tide

KA Koncept 5.4m, W49, Venom 24. GW52

Christchurch Estuary, NZ ..80L/55W, 6.2, 30cms & 27cms ..Nicely powered up and having a great time on the 30 fin, wasn't a good idea to swap it out for the 27, I was dead in the water and struggling to stay afloat with that.

Christchurch Estuary, Session on the estuary. Wasnt happy with the wind so went to greenpark which didnt help at all 0.5 knots faster and then it died

Christchurch Estuary. NE wind, inconsistent.  Falcon Fanatic 90, C3 34, Severne 6m.  Switched to 6.5m as underpowered.  Sailed till I ran out of water.  Some flat water at the end.  Just power in the first place next time I say. Did two gybes, first successful gybes on the short board ever so I was stoked.

Not really fast, was not a high tide and by the time it flattened out there was no water left to get a long run in.
