Liptons, gusty frontal wind. I forgot about one important ingredient about speedsailing, fitnessEmbarassed. Mistral Speed 95 TR16 6.3m Pepeweed 22/48

Checked out Liptons in the morning, some really strong gusts, but a very longway apart + cold and rainy. Decided to wimp out and come back after lunch, when it was due to warm up and settle down more, So left Lunny and Woody to it.

As expected after lunch sun was out and wind more consistent, but gusts not as strong. I went a bit small just in case a really good gust happened in a squall.

5.2 speed with 48cm board and 20cm@40/60 fin. This combo is so balanced, light and effortless, managed a nice gust early on, when max speed happened, the wind eased off, until  the end of my session when some heavier clouds came over. I called it once they had gone.

Tried for alphas when there wasn't enough wind for speed, but gybes were scratchy and wind gusty, kept falling into holes as I came out of the gybe.

Great to share the water with waricle, lombok, woody, lunny, hardie and paulo.

Mostly sunny with flat water, if a tad cool.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU mistral speed 95 KAR 5.5 fangy 21s & 18s Checked out the conditions beforehand and Woody and Lunny were rigging. Wind was a bit up and down with the odd decent gust. Managed to get a squall to start with but then it was intermittent. Was joined by Decrepit, Hardy, Lombok, Paul and one other. First decent go on the 18s no bad vices that I could detect although wasn’t able to get that lucky gust to give it a real good workout. Shows promise. All in all a top day

Matter of luck really fangy, Gusts were short and hard to pick from the take off, so lining up with a good one in flat water was very hit and miss. I was lucky enough to get two.

I find you have a far better chance of getting a lucky gust if you are actually on the water. Tongue outLaughing
