Captain bogan (50569km): Day 4 - the golden lake 15 to 20. Wind down over yesterday distance day. Sam and me decided today was hour day. Started out 1st run hitting a rock and damaging tribal delta 20 damn. Followed up by 3rd run as the wind picked up and broken rear cleat on rear of boom - fark back to shore. Boom change and quick fin tidy up and back on the water. Started the trip up to 5 mile for one hour and saw Sam heading down the lake from his one hour so decided better back him up. By the time I got to 5 mile and 1st gybe in I glugged out of the gybe. Decided to keep going and salvage some sort of hour. A couple of runs near cockles I decided to head down and finish the hour near the spit which was alot of fun in the glass but ended up running over a branch and at the time thought was all okay. Headed back to camp and checked fin and noticed 2 x 2 foot lines on bottom of my nice patrik 100 and a crack on the rear of board triple fark. Oh well fun when I wasn't damaging stuff and missed the good wind - shit happens still better than working I think lol. Patrik 100 / 2020 7m ka sails race / tribal delta 20. | ||||||||||||||||||

Good way to finish the last day of our stay. Sailed 6 of the seven days. 70 year old body held up but hands are shot. Very happy with this years effort. |
