1383 days ago 1 categories Rather underwhelming session, never fully lit, realistically barely lit most of the time.

Underdone with 48cm board, 5.7koncept and 19cm@55 weedy.
Forecast was for 27kts, so didn't take the big stuff, just went with the biggest in the wagon.
Nice crew out, including Fangy, straying from his home territory, to try out his new 7.0 toy from Bugs

Hmmmmm much of the time I could not see Rob, Morts, Peter and Shane because the visibility was so poor. 16C, rainhurting my face, interesting.
I think I would have been quicker on the 55.
Better than working. Or sailing with driving rain and temperatures 10C colder as many face in europe.
Never well powered on the NM run.

1383 days ago Albany, WA, AU. CA47/SCR5.8/TD14. That was a bit gnarly, not really Lilacs finest!! Big storm surge as we rigged up, so not a lot of flat water and poor visibility. We thought the arvo would bring best conditions, but turns out the morning might have been the go. Happy to get a a 5x40 at Lilacs and also to improve my Nauty. It was an interesting run because it was hard to tell where to go with the lack of visibility, then I ran too far out into the chop and got a spin out, was luckily to pull that in and not eat it, then towards the bottom of the run where there was a little flat water I caught a nice gust and took off! Great to get out with Pete, Jeremy, Steve and Shane.

1383 days ago Albany, WA, AU CA62 KAR 5.5 fangy21s then mistral speed 95 koncept 5.0 fangy 21s Too rich for my blood. Wildest conditions I’ve encountered at lilacs, really gusty and choppy with poor visibility due to fairly constant rain. Couldn’t get settled on the CA so changed board and sail, marginally better but then started aggravate my buggered shoulder so called it. Even the locals said it was more survival conditions than anything else. At least I live to sail another day. 👍Stretch, Morts, evets, Shane and one other local all put in decent sessions.

Tide really surged in whikst rigging & took out a fair bit of the flat. Speaking of rigging definitely made the wrong choice with the 5.7 (5.2 would have been better), very hard to sail across the wind let alone get to a good bear off position.
Got to watch a Stretchy masterclass & see a Shane launch into a very impressive bomby over the front of his board.

Just a bloody ripper day, started light n gusty but lots of smooth, then some wind and the smooth went to ripples. Once I got cold I called it and it was cold. As usual great to see mobs of sailors grinning.
CA SL87, Tribal 18 Delta, 6.6 Koncept and a short rubber
