Andrew Haigh (50238km): Lake George, SA, AU, Southerly 12-20 CA100, 22 Delta, 7.0m Better than the forecast. Fun day blasting around with Nic and then Bruce and Ian
Chopper (3675km): Lake George, SA, AU. Mistral Explosion, Retro 6.5. Back on the big sail - opposite start to yesterday - came in after one interesting run on super-glassy water with no wind. Waited till it picked up a bit and went out again. It was interesting sailing for a distance pb - knowing that Ash did 5 times + that much yesterday. I have much more respect now! [And Maree - that's the 26!]
Bruce Healey (24292km): Lake George, SA, AU Another day in heaven. Was going to rig 7.7 but saw the big guys rigging 7.7 so I switched to 7m, casl93, 21 fin. More wimd than I expected it so the 7m was perfect. Went all over the lake did nautical miles with Andy and Ian. Mini motion has been acting up and appears to have missed half the session.

Ian Wright (16360km): Lake George Spit , SA, AU Wind was a bit light so used the Isonic 117 , Loft 7.8 and the old MUF 20 Delta. Heaps of glassy water and it was so easy to get the 80 wide board going. Worked up to 5 mile where the water was a bit choppy and the Delta was spinning out heaps. Back down to the spit in one run and then a few nautical attempts with Andy and Bruce. Wind had picked up to about 15 knots and messed up the glass but still great sailing. Lots out having fun.

15-21kts SSE-SE The Spit Lake George SA 6.2m M2OD- 80 iso- 18cm Budgy Speed proto FF Damn missed a PB hr by 0.015kts.. Got there late due to having my last Covid test ( Yay!) Firie and Jimbob told me how they’d just had 2 hrs of bliss on glass ( Thanks guys..grr). Most of the glass had disappeared as the wind increased. It was almost like yesterday just slightly less wind. It was mostly small chop with a few flatter areas. On the bright side the wind had picked up enough to use the smaller kit. Boy I love the OD’s on the RDM masts! I was never a fan on the SDM’s as they never seemed to rotate consistently but they rotate like a dream now and feel great! I decided to try for an hr. Pity as I wasted some good wind that would have made for fun bearaways.. I’m really starting to enjoy gybing the 80ltre. I had the Go pro on the mast above the boom and soon realised I have a bad habit of reaching overhand to flip the rig on port tack gybes.. The first 3 gybes I almost knocked it off the mast and had to reposition it as I sailed which was a bit tricky. I didn’t want to wreck the hr by falling in! lol’s The good thing was it made me aware of the habit and soon got me out of it.. lol’s The hour has room for improvement. It includes working up to the start. I misjudged and came of the plane 4 times when I gybed in a lull . The 5th one I lost all wind and fell in but managed to hold the sail in the air and waterstart after a short wait..It was hard to tell if there was wind in the flatter section over near Kevs bay. I should be able to do better. The wind started to get patchy in the last 5 mins but held in enough to finish. I need a large type faced watch so I know how much longer I have to go for an hr.. The wind died a little afterwards but the water got flatter and I had some fun. 2nd go of the Fangy. It’s still a proto . It only spun out once. Not quite as much grip as the usual but it’s designed to be faster with a thinner foil so that is expected. I thought it was a 21cm so I’m impressed that I held the 6.2m on the 90 last sail. I was a little bit more careful than on the big Fangys but it’s still very user friendly and got me upwind well. Last one to finish. It’s beautiful out there. Driving back was lovely. Everything was backlit and there was a flock of small finches flying across in front of the van... Jimbob, Firie, Andy & Jill , Ashley , Ian and a few others. Halfway through the hr we were invaded by a big mob from the other end of the lake .
