JPHF 135 F4 SLalom 700/90 fuse Skyscape 5.8

SW 10-20kts+ - First go on the little wing and fuse in a typically gusty, swirling S-wester. Patches of flattish water but not enough to get wound up. Not enough wind to start with, then plenty later on. The little wing is crazy fast and had me shitting myself at times. A high take off speed is scary enough (especially in the lumpy conditions) but as soon you are up it just wants to accelerate. Trying to kill speed to navigate messy water, it wasnt happy to do. I think I will keep this setup for a nice consistent seabreeze at the slips.  Good fun though! Sue and Nathan out on fin and foil and lots of wingers, whose numbers are swelling with each passing session.

5-15kts Sw then 15-20kts Sw Valentine, NSW, AU

 Not the 20-30kts forecast..Undecided

 60cm moguls / crosschop occ 90cm

7m Turbo- WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28cm WT weedy

I should have been on the big kit the first 1.30hr but I'd lined the videoer up and wanted footage of the WT57 in chop ( I've got plenty of the big kit).

Pretty boring footage at first . I only got going occasionally and max 19kts. It finally kicked in and I got a few well powered blats on video. It was really choppy so I couldn't put the power down much but had fun trying.

Camera man says I  should change my name from Sboardcrazy to Pufferfish as  I'm always puffing . cheeky bugger...Laughing

All the crappy sessions must be helping as I only missed one gybe.. Most were pretty average but they were dry which is the most important thing this time of year..Laughing

It kicked in nicely after 1.30hr but lunch was well overdue and I  was buggered. I only had 2 runs after lunch as I was at the top of the range for that combo and so tired I was an accident waiting to happen. A few bearaways on the last run for the 2 sec.

The rain kicked in just after I had got out of my wetsuit so I got soaked derigging..Undecided

More wings than foilers today. about 5 ? foilers and 5-6 wings . Only me on a fin and a young guy on older gear went out as I finished.

There was an accident on our 100km rural road on the way home. A ute pulling a tinny had left the road and gone through someones fence and a little blue car was in the middle of the road.. maybe the blue car came out of the intersection and glanced off the ute.? .heaps of cars and people looking shellshocked but I don't think anyone was badly hurt.

I'll post a few still shots when I get around to editing.

Great stats Jeff! It was very mogully out there. Too bumpy for me to get any decent speeds.. I suppose that's an advantage of foiling in if you're game enough / good enough to put the power on chop doesn't slow you.

Thanks, Sue. A foil is an advantage up to a point. Not easy for anybody out there today. Yes, a big one foiling out in that dodgy chop off Bolton Point. Sealed

Thanks TK and Steve. Nice K's, Byron. Good prep for Green!

Nice photos and vid Sue. Good sailing in what looked like difficult conditions.

Hows those houses in the background with the manicured lawns to the waterline .....what a place to live.

Thanks. It was funny. looking at it I thought that it was going to be pretty flat so i didn't add much tailflex.. Once I got out there I thought Cripes! Surprised Tongue out

Yep wouldn't it be nice to just walk the board to the water..

Great pics and vid, Sue. It did justice to that horrible chop off Bolton. Coming back on starboard was much easier on the foil, sitting above it.Wink

Laughing I put my Go Pro on for the last few runs and it looks dead flat! Surprised

Video from the shore is the only way to really show the conditions..
