Dan (48894km): Motukarara, Grenpark huts. A few runs but all by myself. After a couple of hairy moments I decided to call it quits. Not the sort of place to get hurt by myself when blowing over 35 knots. Should of rigged my 5.1 as the 5.6 was a bit much. Then again I was tentative being there alone. The 44 was really nice in the square wind. Having to bear off in the chop was scary..do ot all again though. W44. R3 5.6. Mykz 21 | ||||||||||||||||||
Stephen (4756km): Short session after a few days of camping (not windsurfing). Nelson - Ackerstern, wind NW 15-25knots and a broad port tack run that made it difficult for me to gybe and get back out of the channel without hitting the bottom. Instead I practised my sheeting in and bearing off before turning up wind at the end of the run and stopping in the shallows. The FF79 behaved well today and I was really wanting more wind to push me down the course....a sign I'm building confidence with this setup. Sailed up the main channel to try a NM but wind died on me during the run so I got to swim back instead! FF79, KAR 6.3, Tribal 27 |
