Captain bogan (50569km): The Golden lake - LG - day one. Great sesh with Sam and Stash. Decided on the Speed board and with a 25 to 30 knot breeze and the breeze picking up went with the 5m. 2nd run in had a 39.3 and was stoked with the water level still not low. A few runs in and was running out of wind on the run and was running 38's, 39's. Followed Stash on a screamer and pulled up to see him screaming and yelling so figured good news and found out he had a 43.33 2 second on the dial - well done mate - run and peak of the day. I soon managed quite a few 40's and we went in for a beer, food and re-group. Decided on the same gear but decided to add 6 kg's of weight. Alot better and managed 4 out of 5 runs with 40 and 38 and 39 10 second runs. With the water level dropping and weed rising i managed to get hold of a decent gust entering early on the run to pull up and see 42.60 on the dial - 41.78 2 sec and 39 odd 10 second run. We called it after sailing yesterday, today and another decent forecast tomorrow. Hope not quite as windy so we can do some of the other disciplines lol. Fanatic falcon speed 51, 5m gun gsr and Tribal weed speed 21.

Unknown Location Bogan (11341km): Stansbury, SA, AU. Sailworks Hucker 4.2, Patrick ][ 92, MUF 22 speedweed. Smoking setup. Very easy to control and easy to use. Punches up wind and the Hucker holds the wind when bearing away. I'm so impressed with this Sailworks, I ordered two more Sailworks sails (one of them is a 4.8 Hucker). Sailed with Tricky, Dave, and Simon. Dave wasn't sailing too good yesterday (he hasn't speed sailed for a year, and like me, has wave sailing roots). Today he got the rigging right and was in the zone with a 32 something 2sec pk. Good to see. Hopefully he can join the team one day. Tricky, Simon called it quits and the wind then went thermonuclear. That's where I got my PB. I did my 100 and decided to call it a day. I could see myself hitting something and face planting big time. This concludes my Stansbury overnighter. | ||||||||||||||||||
mikewho (2720km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU, good seabreeze day 20knts, good turnout, bit chopped up, bump jump day on mid to small gear |
