Andrew Haigh (50758km): Coal Point, NSW, AU Stingray, Whisperer and 5.8 Southerly 15-20+ Quick morning sesh. Just me and a load of pesky wingers. I'm spending too much time with them, my tracks are starting to look that theirs.
Byron Mcilveen (64918km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU s2 venom 7, falcon 115 kestral 22 and falcon 90 21cm carbon home made. Took the gamble of going to budgewoi as it was blowing south didnt swing to the SE untill later in day which then I came straight in as not a good direction. enjoyed the sail but most of all realised the 22 cm Kestral was a piece of shit in the 115 it was sideways heaven so swaped to the 90 and I got 4 knots quicker and no spin outs but was lucky with a nice gust but wind died then as well. watch Mat get a realy nice gust as well with was fun to watch.
Murray Towndrow (8742km): Valentine, NSW, AU Bit of everything 25+ to start then fade out then back at 18 - 20 mostly but lots of holes. 99/7.0/35 then upsized to 114/7.0/40 which was much nicer.
sboardcrazy (25430km): 15-25kts at times 25kts plus S Valentine, NSW, AU bumpy 5m gator - Windtech 57 ( 90ltres) - 24cms WT stealth weedy then 85ltre WT waveboard 23cms centre fin I'm very happy with the 2 sec - a lake chop PB for me. It doesn't sound much compared to the guys but it's great for me! Sussed out Coal first and it was 20-25kts over at the channel but there was a big lumpy big hole out the front. It wasn't very enticing for small boards and I still need to think of being able to come in to rest. Marmong was crap. No wind till halfway across so to Valentine. Great! Wind the whole way across. I took the 90ltre out even though I knew it would be too big and fast. If only I was younger , fitter , healthier I could have had a ball with all the ramps..I was too scared to try in case I lost the kit and couldn't catch it again so I spent all my time dodging ramps. Changed to the wavekit later which was much comfier. Cripes 25.5kts on wavekit feels fast! . I haven't sailed the waveboard much in the last year and you couldn't half tell.. I was a bit nervous about going out in the strong winds after the last session there where I got caught out in the middle. I think that was making me hang back a bit with the gybes.. I just wanted to survive ok. The big board gets flipped upside down when the ramps and wind build but the smaller non cammed sail made recovery a lot easier . I feel a little more confident for having survived and I got a lot of waterstart practise.. It was someone else's turn to get stuck out there. One guy with 20 year old gear had his universal break and had a looong swim in. A few full on fun bearaways. Worst session for gybes I can remember. I didn't get one.. I probably could have had the 4.5m up at times.. I used to gybe in a lull when it was strong but now I'm trying to go in fully powered in the chop. I got a few where I was still upright after the rig flip but then... I usually find a slightly flatter area in the middle to try but I can see I wasn't going far enough across today. I was doing short runs in case anything went wrong. I know what I need to do but need to be fitter and stronger. I need to change my feet earlier and flip the rig earlier..One I got the board in a great carve but then stuffed the foot change and we went flying dead downwind over the back of 4' windswells.. That was fun.. sploosh.. About half a dozen fins , a few wingdings early on but they disappeared once it came in. I was the only one out at times. Paul , Murray, Rus , and a few others..No boats..
