Liptons fabulous sail Nude Streaker 54w/75L  Simmer SCR 6.3m Pepeweed 20/48, all best speeds at point Grey, and late in the session. Lots of happy people today, lots of flat water at Point Grey, I didnt like the conditions at Liptons, choppy run in, and short run on the flats.

Much better day today, no cloud, wind still a bit variable though. started rigging the 5.2 speed, 43cm board with 17cm deltoid, didn't look quite good enough after I'd finished. So rigged the 5.7, 48cm board and 19cm deltoid. Went out with this, and found the wind at PTGrey was in a band off the Pt. After going upwind to the take off, the wind became flukey, making it hard to get going at times. So although the wind picked up enough to give the smaller rig a go, the hard start put me off. I was a bit dissapointed with my speeds, there seemed to be plenty enough wind to go faster. I think choice of fin may have been a problem. The water was deep, didn't really need a delta to get into smooth water. the 20@40/60 may have beena faster choice.

had a go at some alphas, my gybes, slowly starting to improve.

Crayons.

First sail of the year on the first day, how good is that???

Unfortunately my old mate had come to visit before I hit the water, the first run out I knew I was in trouble, the third run I was struggling to hold my head up and focus on what I was doing so decided to flag it.

Shame it looked a bit better than yesterday.
