Mr Love (6877km): Lake George, Wow, I found that quite brutal today...first time on the small speed board in at least 4 years, maybe longer and I'd forgotten how tiring they are to sail. Could have done with a smaller sail but 5.7 the smallest I had. That said it was fun..I think. It,s a fine linr between pleasura and pain!!
Sailquik (29582km): Lake George, South Australia. A really fun day on the Lake! I think this was the strongest wind i have seen here this season. Fairly solid gusts around 30 knots. High 20's for most of the time, but there were lulls every now and then below that. No surprise to see some bigs speeds from the big fast guys. I tried the Atomic Weed Weapon 20cm (45 rake) and it felt great everywhere expect where I stopped in the weed or go too slow in a gybe. After the first three runs (all over 40) I was felling that something was not quite right so I stopped and had a look at my sail. I founf the boom cam was not on tha mast!! OK, that would explain it. So i sailed back to the 5 mile to fix it as it would be too hard on the water. Wgile there I switched to the Atomic 16cm Nuclear delta. No more getting stuck in the weed. :-) While doing that I looked at my GPS and saw the last run back was a 42 peak!! With a cam bulging out i the luff! Went out and immediatly everything felt better and faster. Tried for some NM but found it hard to be fully powered the whole way (like almost everyone else), but was very happy with the best one. These days are THE BEST FUN! CA40, Atomic WW20cm, then Nuclear 16cm, 2022 KA Race 5.2m. Immediatly
Spotty (8858km): Lake George, 47knots on the 47Mistral...has been awhile, 6.3KaRace, 17cmAtomic NuckearWeed. Good wind today, took off from 5mile going upwind as tight as I could averaging 25-26, the fin n tail blasting the chop and holding superbly. Got high enough up to ponit again hard and get close enough to top of run and push out a 45 with ease pulling up off 5mile to check speed. Hot lapped another 4 of those to get 5x10 on the board in case the wind backed off, ....it didn't so kept smashing runs out n doing gybee turns edging my way up high as possible for some NM's. Some where in there got a 47 2sec n 46 10sec again with ease, and hence a little more wind to have a bit more of a ffight upwind would of madevfor some bigger av's n pk's. Would have to of been one of the easiest sessions with good speeds I have ever had, othertimes feel like a lot of work just to get 44. Close to 40 NM just needed more wind and run further away into the chop, had to pinch a little heren there as wind varied. Very impressed with the fin though, I'm sure Martin will be looking at the data and refine further, damn good fin as is!!
