fordy007 (7898km): Hampton, VIC, AU Futura 101L, P7 6.4m, 34cm Had a great time until I went back to the van to find out it had been smashed up the arse by an out of control driver...
Tone (3817km): Lake George, SA, AU 18-25kt S SSE then last third or so, JP Speed Racing 50cm 65 L with the carbon fin. Powered up and could handle te gusts and bullets wit all the differen gear, extra 2 kg weight- satisfying at least, nice blast again to cockies from 5 mile almost topped the speed board with the 94L/Weedweapon on the last run in before putting the carbon one in, both were good for the day but,
Sailquik (29582km): Lake George, South Australia. Another fun day. Not much wind but enough for a good blast. LOT's of sails on the lake today and I had my head on a swivel. Dezza snuk up behind me and tapped my bum which was exciting! After a few other close calls I exited down the the spit and Kevs bay. Boy, the weed there is thick now. I nearly got stuck going upwind even with a 20cm Delta fin!!! There was not more speed down there so I climbed back up again. Came in for a rest as Kato set out on his Marathon attempt. I went down and tried to case him with the video for a couple of laps but I couldnt keep up with him!!! He was MOTORING! I was doing between 25 and 30 knots and he was pulling away from me by about half a knot and looking O'so Relaxed. I would not be surprided if he has a 27 kt hour in his first couple of hrs. I went back to beachport and got some dinner and waited for him to come in at dusk for his rest stop. He was a bit chilled so he changed his wetsuit to his 4/3, filled up his water bags and stocked up on some energy bars. He came in just before 11pm again to get his big board and sail as the wind had eased and was off again. 'See you at Dawn was his last proclimation. I'm off to sleep. Mr Love (6877km): Sunday arvo, get the crap out of the shed so I could find my boards that have not been used since last years Lake George sessions. Fit fins, find fin bolts brrr. Unload the bump and jump gear from van , load up the fast gear..ready. Monday...6hr drive and arrive around 1...fluff around and on the water around 2. Fun, fun, fun. I just went cruising, top of the lake down to the islands and the spit them back again. No fabulous speeds, the board probably too big but really just blowing the cobwebs out as its been so long since i used the gear. Today looking great, as well.

Peter Johnston (8869km): Lake George, SA, AU CA SL 87L with 24cm Fangy fin and 6.6m KA Koncept then F2 Missle XS with 15.5cm Atomic Speed Weed and KA Speed 5.7m. Fun day zooming around the lake. Great to see so many others enjoying the amazing lake. Bring on more tomorrow! Loving the Fangy fin and the Atomic Speed Weed - both are pointing really well and not a hint of letting go.
kato (37642km): Lake George, SA, AU Sorry its taking a while to post - I've been busy eating, sleeping, chatting... Big thanks to Andrew Daff for keeping an eye on me, encouraging me to keep going after 22 hrs. A big thanks to Jill from the Bridesmaids - you're awesome! For setting up the 2 lights at cockies - 4 km round trip walking in water and mud. I even got the gybe around you! A thanks to the many - who helped pick up boards/ gear in the water/ mud - and generally encouraging me to keep going. Thanks for Fei for typing this up for the second time, and i'm dictating this to her as she can type far better than i can. With all my 24 hr attemps - ive always stopped when i ran out of wind. And i really wanted to do a 24 hr sail with wind throughout the challenge. This forecast was the best i've seen with 10-20 knts during the night. Game on! 6 yrs ago Matt Robinson and I worked out a plan for sucking the fun out of the 24 hr challenge. This invovled 10 min breaks every 4 hours. With that plan - i started at 4 pm 14 February 2022. SL54, Atomic weed weapon 24 (its first run out ever), koncept 6.6 Magic conditions. Swell lines with glassy conditions for gybing. Great for eating kms. First stop at 8pm. More water onboard, quick snack of peanut butter, jam and cheese sandwich. Changed to night time mode - helmet with lights and mast top light. Lighter winds so changed to SL78, Fangy fin, KA race 7.7. I'm excited about my first night sail with a full moon. As I've always night sailed with just stars. Magic experience sailing under full moon with moon shadows and just a couple of stars for company. Could see the foam lines and just kept square to those aimig for the night lights each run. The water was so flat that i could see my tracks after the gybe. The wind kept changing angles but the positioning of the night lights were perfect and i could change bouys i was aiming for. Midnight. End Part 1.
