529 days ago Coodanup, WA, AU. Arrived with Boz, Ant and Kai in the pond doing ok. Was going to rig 7m as wasn't that strong when a nice gust came through so went with 6.3. Just about to go out when SRS73 turned up, I lent over to pick up my dry bag and face planted the experimental annular weed fin waiting for action punching a nice hole in a blood vessel on the forehead. Not realising the amount of blood pouring out everywhere, a passerby stopped for a chat only to be horrified when I turned to face them. I had to hold the puncture for 5 min or so by which time the wind dropped to becalm when Cannonball rolled up. Not even enough wind for the big guns but started rigging them anyway. That seemed to work and a gust eventually came through so quickly went out, made a few hunderd meters when a footstrap screw pulled. Back for repairs then out again and of course wind died. Chug fest to the pond, going right by a couple of fishing dolphins (of course no cameras on board today). Got to pond, stood around for 20min, one gust, another infinite wait, then 2 mins of wind, another wait and so on. On finally getting upwind enough to chat, found out one of the team already in the pond had had a far worse start than me. All this standing around was a bit tedious and not my idea of sailing so decided I had better things to do with my time and came in. Of course wind seemed to fill in once back to van but the weedburgs were pretty brutal and considering the bad start chose to go do other stuff. Quite a few others going out then I came in so I hope the afternoon seesion is better. iSonic 97, KAR 6.3, FF22

Better than expected sail today. Quite a bit of mud walking today but when the pulses came through it was joy sailing through the guts of the pond.Big turnout today with Boz and Jim back from there inland adventures,Kai,Scott,Ben and Tim on his maiden sail at the chook.Big full stop stack and bang from Boz attempting to sail through the channel with no water in it :O Trashed mast and sail but being a man of steel rerigged a bigger sail and straight back out for some good runs.

Interesting day, started okay went out on the 52AV and 5.7KAR, one run out to deeper water a quick adjustment on the outhaul then headed for the infamous Chook Pond. This is the moment it kind of went upside down, building enough speed to sling into the channel as the wind direction was near perfect. As I haven’t sailed the chook for a few months didn’t realise how big the sandbar was plus low tide didn’t help. Sitting on 29 knots focussed on the upwind turn and get just past the fence when I came to a screeching holt. Boyz rekon they heard the crash from the carpark😁collateral damage 1. Near New RDM mast snapped 2. KAR 5.7 for the bin 3. Bruised ego😂 Headed back grabbed the 6.3 new mast rerigged and then back to the pond for a nice session.
Think we missed the best of the wind but good to see Scotty and Ben still in the pond when we left. Looking forward to some good speeds from the boyz, got a side bet with Ant that Scotty will pull a 40😂

529 days ago Sketchy day out at Safety Bay, rigged up wrong sized sail and it was gnarly. I left my other sail at home thinking it was going to be fine. Yeah, big mistake. Did my second ever waterstart today pretty exiting. Got into the really small choppy surf part just outside the pond. It was fun got some air but I was on the wrong board, my freestyle wave would've been better but the footsraps needs to get moved. I was on the Fangy aswell which made the waves even sketchier. Trying to navigate the kitesurfers was a nightmare and it even worse when I was fulling powered up and there was a kitesurfer in my way. All in all it was good day🍄

529 days ago Coodanup, WA, AU Surprisingly sunny day, sailing with Warricle and a few others. Water very shallow with some major weed burgs... which I seemed to hit frequently. Trying smaller Carbon art board, a bit to get accustomed to, but loving it (just got to take a shot of courage and go faster) 6.0 NCX.

Sorry Boz, nowhere near that ... let me know next time that I need to do 40 :)
Great to catch up with Jim, Ben and Boz. Sorry to hear your tale of woe Boz and glad you're ok. I walked in through the channel and thought 'wow it is shallow here near the fence'...
Glad you didn't do any lasting damage Jim.

Arrived to meet Flex, Scott and Tim in the carpark scratching our heads as to how much wind to expect. Looked like a bit of grovelling happening so I rigged a little bigger with hopes the wind would fill in. Not long after I arrived in the pond the wind picked up, biggest gust of the afternoon came through and I had to put extra outhaul on. Unfortunately the wind faded and Boz, Kai, Ant and jim abandoned us. Determined to try for an hour in the smooth pond I carried on with a bit of grovelling then the blue skies came out and wind continued to consistently build for the next hour or so, until about 3 when a mild squal blew the wind out and swung towards ssw. Managed to cruise for another 18ks to crack 100 then followed Scott back to the carpark. 18delta spent a lot of time getting up close with the seabed, well picked with the tide Boz. Great to see Scott back on the water. Stoked to get a long sail with mostly consistant wind for this time of year.
