Albany, WA, AU Mistral Speed 95 CA63 scs5.8 ANW20 The wind kicked in earlier and the tide was still very low. Started with some nautical mile runs on the sp95 and I found it a bit draggy with the weed just on the surface then tried some gybes and perfected my face plants on the sp95 so changed to the CA63. Fewer face plants but the really good gybes eluded me today. I’m sore, tired but very happy 😃

more later still recovering from stack and mild concussion Bugger forgot to hit post last night, now I have to start again! Bloody old age!!!!! Started off with 55cm board and 5.7 speed. Had lunch while wind built to max, changed to 48cm board and 5.2 speed, went out to a dropping wind, was underdone, and wind kept dying, so headed back, on the way heard a big bang, next thing I know I'm in the water, and wondering where I am. Soon became obvious it was Albany. Dave arrived to see how I was, and has been keeping an eye on me ever since. Thanks Dave. Sorry Anita, no idea of what I hit. Not even sure if the bang was fin against object or mast/boom against my head.

Just a mild headache at the moment. Harness were a big surprise, rope broke in two spots, about 3cm away from the plastic break. Can't think how that would happen. Looking at my tracks, I went from 27kts to 31 just after the accuracy data went thru the roof, that's also strange. All I remember is a big bang!

No idea Anita, I almost walked back to see if I could find it, but thought better of it, then there's a blank spot. Don't think that lasted long, then I'm wondering where I am.

Stretch, I don't remember stuff like that, I've bought them in the last year or so, but don't know which boom they went on. Trouble is they are the opaque variety, so wear isn't visible. However, the rope didn't snap at the usual bottom of the loop, where you normally see wear. But 2/3cm away from there on each side.

Probably not a bad idea to get a complete new set for the 3 booms, and make a date somewhere, same for unijoints.

I've got used to the rope breaking, and the harness going strectchy with the plastic, not comfortable but I can still sail in and replace it, so normally wait until they give way.

Here's a zoomed in view of crash tracks

So the head stops first, but doesn't go underwater.

Tthe arm goes under water, and with no sats the M10 assumes I'm in a tunnel and just keeps repeating the last speed, until it comes out of the water, then discovers it's not in a tunnel at and should be back at the crash site. The boom port boom stays out of the water, and the accuracy goes off becaus of cgange in orentation.

Looks like I did actually start to walk back to the impact, but then changed my mind, tried to water start and discovered broken harness line. couldn't start in the weed drag un hooked, so there's a lot of slow blue lines.

And here's the speed and accuracy graph.

Green is my head GPS, Red is on my arm, and blue is the port boom.

I think the line is at the point my head got hit, which may have been the bang I heard.

Head and boom didn't go under water, only my shoulder unit had a dip.
