Good fun but kept unhooking on speed runs which was a bit of PIA. Lots out blasting along & having great fun.

Decrepit (54711km): Another fantastic Lilacs Day, Unfortunately, I just couldn't get any speed. Went withthe 48cm board, the 18cm@55 starboard assy and the 4.7 speed. I had an effortless 37 with this sail at fangys 5 years ago. I hoped to beat that today, but couldn't quite make 37. wind had picked upa bit, sothought this next run should do it. But I crashed trying to water start. Boom came down hard on the front of my helmet, lost a sunglass lens, and split my eyebrow. Thatended my sailing for the day. Didn't even feel like sailing home, I was going to walk it the 500 odd meters. But Woricle, interupted his sailing to sail the board back. Elmo lent us his first aid kit, but after a shower and kleen up, the wound didn't look to bad and had stopped bleeding. Waricle said I'd need to shave my eyebrows to get a plaster on. That didn't apeal, I'm going to look bad enough when this black eye matures. So hope it doesn't open up again overnight and stain the pillow red.
Any guess how many PBs this session? I think we had 18 the last good one, I'mnot sure it will be equaled today, we'll see a bit later
ratz (10868km): Albany, WA, AU everybody going fast today apart from me well done to all who got p.bs have to work out what i am doing wrong.
waricle (19012km): Albany, WA, AU M95 Koncept 5.0 td16 Wow !!! What a day. The forecast predicted an epic day and Huey delivered. I spent the session on the nautical mile run and had the best time talking to and watching my friends absolutely hammering the nm. Congratulations to all of the sailors on their amazing PBs and top fives. Truly a memorable Albany experience. Well done all😎
Elmo (31592km): JP Speed 54, NP RSR E6 6.4, Tribal Delta 18cm. Got there just after 11 bit of faffing around and on the water at 1152. Mike advised everyone was rigging small was going to rig the kids rig but saw a few Naughties going down the run and they all appeared to hit holes so against my better judgement rigged the 6.4 expecting to rapidly reyurn to shore and change down. Tacked up wind, unfortunately the tide was still low so short runs on the naughty, sent it down the run, 38.26 Nm, not to bad except for a couple of freckle clenching wheelies at speed. Rinse repeat, next run 38.295 Peak speed on this run Rinse repeat, next run 38.161 Rinse repeat, next run 38.313 Rinse repeat, Last run 37.462, Thats it I'm done, arms are shot the legs were trembling. No short squirts only naughties. Arms were pretty much tin fruited after the 3rd run dealing with the bigger sail across the middle was diabolical so walked the kit up the sand bar on the last two runs. Congrats to all that Got their well deserved PB's. Mike, glad it was just a flesh wound.
Sad news though, my poor patch work 6.4 may need to be relegated soon more holes and gaps than original sail now, gotta find a newish one. not bad life for a 9 year one abused sail. |
