Coodanup, WA, AU Quick blast as had one of those pesky christmas functions someone had invite me to so I could cook for them.   Rigged too big as forecast came true for a change but couldn't be bothered changing down. Was a bit sketchy. iSonic 86, KAR 7, FF18V4

Coodanup, WA, AU

sailed with Flex and Nauli today

i came down too late, the tide was a bit high for me, so lots of chop

plenty of flat spots but, too much chop for me doing the nautical mile, so packed up early

i thought i would injure myself, and would not be able to go to Albany on thursday

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Gusty as useual, tide low then rising so I could sail over parts of the sand bar practising gybes.

Manta 74, 18 tribal delta 5.4K

Lovely wind today but the tide was a bit too high for super flat water.

My main problem was that my muscles were still tired from Thursday (which was a big session for me), so I had to give up on trying for alphas after just a few, so that I would have the leg strength for the nm back to start.

I still managed a third best alpha (better than the third best one from Thursday) so I think I am onto something here (thanks Maree for the tip). I felt I could have cracked the 20 kn alpha today if I had been feeling stronger.

Still trying to fine tune this board - today was its first use since last season due to it being locked in its salted up bag last time it was windy. I tried to depower everything for the last run home (because I was tired) only to find I went faster...

A top 3 alpha and a top 5 nm, so I guess it was a top 10 Fangy day... lovely and warm and sunny too...

Carlisle St, Safety Bay. More of a open water training run for Cervantes in a few weeks than a speed run and pretty much mirrored the conditions can expect up there. Seebreeze said it dropped to 24 kn later in the day but it more closely followed Garden Island with I reckon around 30kn. I even took out the 4.8 S-1 but was no better in these conditions than the SV5.5Turbo on the Fox95/WS33 combo.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Arrived around the same time as Boz and Hardie for a chat about tides, wind, new toys and blown-out panels. The wind was filling in so decided to rig which caught Glenn's attention and he advised (correctly) not to go too small, but did I follow his advice? Tried Liptons corner a few times but the setup was too short and too shallow.

Second outing on the speed board very kindly loaned to me by Anita.

Very nice session all round again Scott. Shame about the timing of that chrissy funtion Jim. Fingers, it appears as if your peak speed was roughly where it gets a bit choppy. Nice to see somebody enjoying challenging Melville Ricey. Very nice speeds and naughty Anita, getting more consistent with your alphas, results will follow.

Noice speeds today Scott.  Thinks maybe we should have rigged in da 6s. 5s were underdone.
