Patrik 100, NP RSR E6 6.4m, Nemesis 30cm

Twas a wee bit breezy, got down to Novara white caps everywhere could've gone smaller but didn't trust things.

First run thought I'd head towards Claudesville unfortunately only got 3/4's of the way there before I became a whiney little pussy and turned around with a crampy back foot after only going 6.4km.

Noticed I was a fair way upwind so thought I have a bash at getting in behind Ward point, much to my surprise after bashing my way through the chop some of which was junky waist+ I found myself litteraly right behind ward point, went past it into cox bay and found a nice little patch where a gumby like me could do some U turns without an audience.

So rather than rattle the teeth I played around up there for an hour or so trying U turns on my none favored hand (to be honest I'm pretty crap no matter which direction I'm sailing) was a lot of fun but towards the end I was getting a bit pissied with my GPS going "MISSED" in big bold lettersYell.

Kept doing turns until the arms started feeling sketchy, in hind sight I probably should have gone back sooner as hammering down wind over lumpy goodness whilst overpowered had the freckle getting more excercise than I realy wanted.

Great day, Chicky babe took us out the breaky, got a few bits and pieces done, a great sail and cake for desert tonight.

Top Ten Fangy High Speed Colonic irrigation day. Excellent fun arvo. Post the story later

A good breeze and plenty of water. Windtech Cruise (mod), Avalon 6.3 single cam. FF18 proto, then FF21

Straight up, it was fab to catch up with Geoff from the Pinnas, haven’t seen him in yonks. The next big thing on the list was the demise of the FF18 proto. It broke near the tip, where I expected my construction technique failings would be exposed. There was meant to a fin carbon rod thorough this area, but I stuffed up during the assembly phase and didn’t manage to get the rod inserted. It failed on the downhill with no warning, which was a tad unexpected. The sphincter challenging 33 knot arse slide was also not on my to-do list for the day. But no harm done, and probs the only real downer was that Flex wasn’t nearby with the drone to record the fin’s demise.
The remnants of the fin got me home, and I was back out on the FF21. The bigger fin was a much better choice. Far more assured in the choppier water. I ended having a ball charging around until I followed the Scud down the run. I honestly thought he was going to be served on toast when he managed to expertly manoeuvre around the warning marker at Grumpynuts rock and sail directly over the top of the rock. I could not believe he made it across unscathed. Doing some quick maths, I reckon he had less than 5 cms of water between him and one of the greatest dismounts of all time.

Finally, good luck Gloria, best wishes for a speedy recovery and back on the water in 24.
