Lake George SA Au

XFire90, 5.4North, FF18

Firsrt sail after last week's stack - couldn't really commit mentally or physically today, even though ribs not really that sore.  Played it safe and came in.  Felt like the right thing to do when I was out there.  Feels a bit lame now!

10-15kts SSE then 18 building to c 25kts SSE The Spit -  Lake George, SA, AU

 Sail no 7

6.5m Turbo - RS4 (112ltres) - 24cms Atomic fin

 then 6.5m - RS2(90ltres) - 24cms Atomic fin

 then 4.5m Blade - WT57 ( 90ltres) - 24cms WT Stealth weedy

I started at 10am as I wanted to get some gybe practise in before it got too strong and choppy. The first few runs were dogging around checking depths but then it started to build and I had some lovely runs at 18-20kts practising gybes.

It was sunny and the chop was only about 5"high. Wore myself out doing that for over an hour then came in to change to the smaller board. By now I was getting pretty maxed with the 6.5m so not a lot of gybes. The Gybe stat was on the big gear.

2 sec was on this combo. It was the first run down along the piece of land N of the islands and I misjudged how fast I was going. I round up to stop but was going too fast and ended up on the edge of that land where i discovered there were lots of limestone blocks.. It sounded like  the fin was ripped out of the box but a bit of sanding will fix it..EmbarassedUndecided

Held onto the 6.5m for a while until it was becoming a bit dangerous then in for lunch..zzzz

Just went for some runs on the Wt later. The board was a bit big for the conditions and I was maxed out with the 4.5m wavesail. I was going for it with the sail down over my head ( hoping a big gust wouldn't throw me over the front) and really liow . My back legs were killing me!

What a buzz! Still buzzing.. Probably a bit risky but I survived..Laughing

Decided to call it as the gusts were getting really strong and I could have got hurt.

Chris  and Gabe , Irish Tom , Firie , Jimbob and me.. Top fun 10/10 Tongue outTongue out

zzzzzzz
