Sail no 12 - The Spit Lake George, SA, AU

 Patchy 10-18kts (lower end) then 15-20kts + S

RS4 ( 112ltres) - 24cms Atomic - 6.5M Turbo for c 1.30hr then 30 mins RS2 - 22cms Atomic

I decided to try for an hr. Off the plane a bit at first. It's the first time I've used the hr function on the Garmin. It started at 13kts prediction but I kept going for over an hr till it was almost 18 but I couldn't quite get there. I was doing short runs to try and gybe in a gust.Undecided Good practise though.

Hopefully the next attempt will be nicely powered.

I didn't feel comfortable today. The harness lines felt wrong and I felt all over the place. It may have been the patchy wind.

Gybes were tidy but no planing ones. Pretty buggered by the end so in for some food and back out on the 90ltre (RS2). Much easier and more fun. I would usually have changed down earlier, but I didn't want to stop the hour attempt.

Some decent gusts by now but I was too tired to make the most of it and when one gust stood me up and threatened to chuck me round the front I decided it was time to come in.

Thanks for the compay Maree. Sorry I didn't stop to talk but I was on an hr mission..Laughing

Clive was flying and still going when I was packing up. He was like the energiser bunny today.Laughing

About half a dozen out on the lake today.

I hope my toe survives for another 4 sails.Undecided

It doesn't like getting into the footstraps. Luckily I have a velcro strap over the top of my booties. I can tighten that to stop the toes going forward and touching the front of the bootie.
