Absolutely beaut arvo on the water, only spoiled by:

2 x broken fins

1 x broken footstrap

6 x trips into shore to swap busted stuff etc.

Before (sister fin)

After... Look closely and you should be able to pick the difference.

This is fin number two I broke today. I was trying a sneaky uphill run over the gravel pit when I hit a decent sized rock at a decent ol clip of knots. Quite the bang as it all went to pieces. I spent a few minutes trying to find the busted bits to no avail. The run home was epic poo stance and resulted in more splashes than I would have liked, but at least I didn’t have to walk far.

Coodanup WA AU Numbers from boom mount logger. CA63 &  CA SP60 PEPE Delta 20 TD24 SCR 6.3 Super low water. Light breeze. Undercooked on 6.3. Eight others out sailing . It looked like the breeze and tide were finally coming in as I drove out. Enjoyable days sailing.

A bit unenthused before going out as me old mate had come to visit and was feeling a bit nausious to boot. but rigged anyway, decided to go the larger kit and the pointer as the wind was a bit up and down and there was reputed to be waves out there today.

Tacked a bit upwind and got a couple of longer runs almost out to the platform (well a bit south of it)   which I havene't done for a while, found the waves (gone past being chop) which was a bit of fun sending it in front of them.

No real speed today just bashing away, Naughty was an east west run from out in the middle.

Still can't get my head around the pointer but it did make it easier tacking upwind.

Good fun, nice turnout today of the usual problem children.CoolCoolCoolCool

That was a great day , arvo , out on the waters of coodanup. The numbers may not show it , but it was fun with

a few smooth spots in places. Wind did no get to forecast??    Had the old windtec, ka kon5.8, and fangyfin reject,,,

I think I can blame the fin for my speed ??

Great cruise on the flat, long runs almost parallel to the shore.

water low, wind very up and down and mainly light.

went with the new 60cmboard, 6.2 koncept, (hindsight says it should have been the 6.6) with 29cm deltoid.

Lots of great company, waricle, Gloria, Fin, Basil, Steve, Remery, Fangy himself, Ant and firie remebered his board today,

Well that was a much better day than yesterday, I didn't forget my board this time EmbarassedLaughing

I had an enjoyable slap, water was shallow but flat so it was a delta day but I did wish I was using my weedspeed. I had one go at a mile but wind had dropped so the delta kept letting go trying to get up the top, super frustrating and in the end not worth the effort. I had to bolt early as I had a meeting.

Carbonart SL87, Pepefoil 18 Delta, 6.6 Koncept and boardies

Wow Ross, epic.  2 Questions.  1) What epoxy are you using?  That Basil stuff? Looks super brittle.   I haven't broken any 3D printed fins despite mega abuse.  2) How to you post pictures to GPSTC, I used to be able to do it a few years ago but nothing I do now works?

Flex, i am not sure I would lay much blame at the feet of the resin, but yes it was the old araldite. I was going mid-twenties, the fin was fully loaded and there is a lot of momentum muscle on my belly to bring to a stop..Embarassed

I haven't hit something that hard for quite some time! No clickety clack warning, just bang.

Kudos here to Mark Oz customs. I wanted a strong layup and he delivered with no damage to box/board that I can see.

As for pics, on a Mac, I open them in Preview -> Tools -> Adjust Size -> Fit into _ pixels -> Select 800x800 from drop down. Cmd C and Cmd P into GPSTC.

By the way, your infll looks super low (<8%) which suggests you definitely got cheaper epoxy than filament.

Flex, that's the fun of mucking around with the printer, isn't it ? So much boffinising to be done. I can try all sorts of combinations and see what happens. I think that fin might have been down the low end of gyroid infill; if I remember correctly I wanted to make sure the resin flowed to the tip of the fin with no bubbles.

As for Safari not playing the game, as a guess, I think Safari has stricter clipboard access controls than Firefox.

Ross me thinks it's better to root a fin than your board, plus if fin didn't take the shot for the Fang team the crash may have injured one self.
