Birchmont with the Bozinator.   Was a bit hectic getting across the 2Km of rough stuff to the flats but once there was nice.   First time sending it through the narrow channel watched by hundreds of Pelicans just a few meters away who didn't seem fussed.  Wind was cranking, shoulda rigged smaller and was even more hectic getting back. Got back and there was a brand new unfinished Fangy fin wedged in my door as a bonus...thanks Jay!    Stopped off at Coods on the way back to burn a few drone batteries of the action...place was crowded. Nice to meet Tassie Anthony.  iSonic97, KAR5.7, FF22(18)

Late start at Foilville.  Got down there 3ish, and it looked pretty fresh, but hella gusty.  I initially rigged a 6.0 (which would've been way too big), and the headcap blew while I was suiting up.

Sat on the bench a while contemplating the 7.0, but it was gusting high 20s at this point so that wasn't an option.

Adam turned up, so I took the opportunity to mission home and grab the 5.0, leaving my board and foil rigged.

Back to Foilville and I was finally ready to get on the water nearing 5 with the 5.0 + 460 combo.

It was brutally gusty out there, gusts were easily nudging 30K, so it wasn't comfortable sailing.

Headed upwind to Melville, but the direction was wrong for sending it, and there was no flat water.

Bailed back downwind and called it just on the hour.  It was pretty unpleasant for the most part, too gusty to get settled.

Coods

First time sailing here in a few years (aside from pond access).

6.2m Rapid63 deta sym 20.

Got there and it looked good so followed advice (oops) and rigged a bit small. Sorry if anyone else was inspired by my optimism.

Water was pretty flat, some nice cruising, but was hitting a wall being underpowered most of the time. There were some bullets occasionally but I guess I wasted them at first. Took a little while to remember how hard I can push a delta in chop so was holding back a bit. Later on there were a couple of solid gusts after it was just Ant and I left. Finally got a bit of power to send it. Only found 3 runs though over 40 max and 39kts 10sec. Interesting the chop was much bigger since the tide had come in and covered up most of the banks, but I'd gotten reacustomed to the delta by then and was happy to send it.

Great day and awesome to catch up with everyone. Good times!

Even the wildlife was getting a bit friendly. Plenty of rays around. I was standing near the take-off area calmly waiting for a gust and I felt someting sharp stick into my shin, it didn't quite puncture but it was close. I looked down and saw the offending stick drifting past... oh hang on... its attached to a stingray... that was a bit close for comfort. Thanks wetsuit!!

Started at Heron with the flexinator, so much fun exploring the knooks and a new run through the gauntlet of pelicans, headed then to oods to join in a bit of fun as well
