Fresh from preparing a pitch at the MCG that looked more like Flemington, Richo put his prowess to work at Fangyland. Obviously stinging from the criticisms of every batsman born, this time he removed all the grass and appeared to lose the keys to the heavy roller in the process.

The end result was a very lively pitch, for which I went too big with everything. Except arms. They were puny. And cooked within half an hour

Trying to get my new harness lines sorted on a mismatched bit of kit while bouncing a few vertebrae into the spare parts bin meant I managed the shortest session this season. Lots of poo stance and very uncomfortable,  I would like to say I will learn from the experience. However, the only thing experience tells me is that I won't.

55cm board, 5.7 speed, 19cm@55 weedy.

Too much Xmas cake, wobbly tummy with reflux took the edge of a nice day.

Diddn't have any energy, couldn't get any speed.

Had to get back early to take BIL to airport.

So called it.

Patrik 100, NP RSR Evo-XV 6.5m, LE 33 & Elmo SS 37cm.

Far-Kimmy, that was a wee bit hairy and slightly beyond my current abilities! didn't help that I went out originaly with the 33cm fin and was having all sorts of grief especially getting going with it. Peak speed was 28 leaving a brown trail behind us.

Went back to the car to flag the session but decided to try the larger fin to see if it would make any difference and if I could redeem myself.

First run 30, a lot more stable and confidence inspiring which was rapidly washed away by the continual launches over chop (of which there was lots).

Kept company and given a demonstration on proper sailing by Perth sailor Fino (hope I got that right) who was out in the middle and blasting over the chop, getting regular air which I could see from the shore.

No bruises today (apart from my ego) so all is good.

Coodanup, WA AU M95 LRB 5.0 ANW 18 Sunny, great tide and fresh to strong breeze increasing late in the afternoon. A great crowd enjoying what will probably be the last good breeze of the year. Times from 245 Garmin. Two sec 34.2, five x 32.9 alpha 7.1 nm 0  dis 11 km hr 0. Not only did I not turn on the boom mount but also the mini motion. Great day out anyway
