Best way to start the year . 

Nelson, Atawhai,  high tide. 

Wind was NE 15-25knots, very gusty and quite choppy. Out on the Falcon and trying to tune it for chop, couldn't quite get comfortable today but it was great to wake up to the wind blowing.

Lake Aviemore,CA101, SevOD5.5 down run from Aviemore dam to Waitangi.Lost the crowd at the start line as I was underpowered.Had 4 bouys to gybe around, did consider forgetting about them but after locating thd first I was determined to finish the race.

By the time I reached the third bouy was nicely powered to finish my own race in style.

Keen to do that again, was a fair way down the lake, just over 20kms in fact.Did a few extra meters locating bouys.

Lake Aviemore.  Down wind blast from top of the lake. Tactical slalom race. VMG not Vmax. Had to run a bigger board just to stay planing in the light wind. CA 103 M5 6.2 C3 40. A load of fun trying to find the marks
