WSW around 18kts. 5.6 Patrick free race, 60cm board 17cm @ 55 degfin

Tried to rtake it easy today to see how my heart copped, Didn't help. Still very out of breath every run, after the 28kts run I think I was fibrelating, didn't feel comfortable anyway, so I called it.

Coodanup, WA, AU CA66 LSB 5.8 Fangy 22 moderate to fresh breeze reducing to light then freshening ( after I de rigged) a low but not too low tide in cloudy with the occasional bit of sun. We had an early start 9:30 and finished around lunchtime. The breeze picked up in the afternoon. Sailed wit Gloria, Rob, Dave, Jim and Mike. Ian rigged but didn't sail and Ant arrived as we were packing up. Mike had to shorten his session and I gave it away as the last couple of runs were dredging. Almost ideal conditions at the start of my session and I had an enjoyable morning. Gloria went back out after the breeze came back but I was into dry clothes so drank my coffee and watched. Good times.

Awesome better than expected sail........eventually

Got down to Novara to find Annie rigging a smaller sail and Paul out on the foil styling away in (what he claimed) were head high waves (I couldn't figure out if this was head high standing on the water or on the board in flight) whatever it was he was going well........ until the blue trailer pulled up. about 15-20mins later the breeze was gone.

Whilst there was no wind and A&P were procrastinating about derigging we had a great chat which was a bit difficult as they were talking in morse where the gist of the conversation was them extolling the virtues of sailing in warm water up at Exmouth.

Any hoo

Eventually the wind came back, I waited for 10 mins to see if it would hang around, checked the radar and saw the rain was 50km offshore so quickly rigged up thinking I'd have half and hour before it hit.

I got 40mins of fun and friviolity, a few holes out there but mostly a good bit of fanging across Cox Bay, fortunately for me the swell Paul had experienced had dropped considerably down to mid shin height and easily managable.

Naughties never quite worked out due to holes and cutting them short over Ward Pt not knowing how deep it was. Still nice to have some power to hang onto.

Flagged it when allt he cloud came back, unfortunately a touch late as the rain caught me whilst derigging.

When the rain came in it had a squall with it which picked up and launched my board, fortunately I was able to stop it with my shoulder, a bit more concerning was the 42cm fin attached to it also coming at me in flight, I may have clenched a bit before I got it under control.

So, a great session, was expecting a whole lot less so was pleasantly surprised.

Good timesCool
