Dorans, TAS, AU  Great day at Dorans, hav'nt seen it blow like that for ages. Breno came down with me so we had the 6.3 and 7.0 Blades rigged and swaped them around. Turned out to be the right combo for us. I used the exocet 58 and Breno used the fanatic 91, Perkys old board, still a nice board to ride.

Great blast at Dorans, got a bit bored with the slalom/speed sailing so got the wave gear out for a bit of jumping. Started out warm then turned to snowy weather. Wind got stronger and stronger as the afternoon went on.

Finally cracked the 40. Second time lucky as Ive had it on the gauge before but its always gone down so Im pretty stoked.  Conditions were hard all day swinging from NW to SW, the time in between was magic if ou got on the right gust. Havent sailed for about 4 months or since i got back from WA trip so im frothing hard, freeded up nicely for time as well now so hopefully more to come. Also loved my new Reflex 3 5.6 straight out of the bag and the mast didnt break so made a potential shit day quite good, so buggered now.

Crazy sail at lagoon Bay. Had a bit of fun on the waveboard with Ben. Had to work this morning so missed all the flat water. Plenty of wind, too much sail and lots of blown oiut chop. Low head was hitting 45-50kts in the gusts but dropping down to 28kts in the gaps

JP wave 75, Aerotec 4.7

Ben Wilson (21561km):

Absolutely mad conditions at the lagoon today with Paul, sets rolling in?!? Wind was over 40knots and at the point gusting over 50. Very happy with how the Koncept handled the wind.

Nice be back sailing at Henty for the 2nd time today. Conditions were pretty good, 26 knots most of the time gusting to 35. Hard day for me, just couldnt quite get that golden run. Will go back next time more focused, determined and wiser to the ins & outs of Henty. Still slightly improved on the NM on my last run which is always good. Big Congrats to everyone today, especially James. You deserve it mate! Tongue out

Henty, TAS, AU

Good sail at Henty with 10 people on the water, which must be a record.  Wind was a bit too broad to begin with and then swung to a good angle, but didn't last long before swinging further to the SW.  Everyone still got some good sailing in.  As always, could have done with more wind and for longer, but still good fun.

Very shallow in areas.  First NM run I unkooked 3 or 4 times sailing over 'golden' coloured water (shallow) in case I hit the bottom.  Fin scraped the bottom twice!!

Good to see we can still get a 1 hr and NM, but not sure for how much longer.

Sailed iSonic Speed W49, Reflex III 5.6 (unreal sail - second time out with it) and Slingshot 21 (first time out - felt sensational).  Swapped to the iSonic 86 and Ven 32 for the 1 hr.

Always good to get away with the guys, long trip but good fun Smile Didnt live up to the forecast and a very small window for really good speeds. Wish i got a NM in but stopped short because i was worried about the depth, what could have been Yell

Should have sailed the whole run more especially towards the end as it seems to be the windiest down there and tends to have more w in the direction when its nw, next time..

Henty -- 10 hours driving, 2 hours kayaking!

Isonic 94, Koncept 5.8

Great day out in the howling wind, sand and rain. Some amazing speeds by the rest of the gang.

I think I provided the comic entertainment with my constant crashes! Sailing in a narrow river was new to me, usually I start at the same angle to the wind every time and take a few 100m to get strapped in and settled! When I did get going I was amazed how easy it was to go fast.

Will (22717km):
4611 days ago

Pretty windy sail at Dorans on my IS86 slim and CR5.4. Wind was up and down a bit to start with, came in strong at the end and managed to get some good runs in before it got too insane and choppy.

Dorans, TAS, AU. Great sail in heaps of wind. Couldnt get it together today, huge night out the night before. First I drove off without the trailer got down the road and realised I hadno gear. Then when I came in from sailing Russ pointed out I had a 42 Sting 2 in my Isonic 87 instead of a 32cm Venom. I was wondering why the board seemed hard to sail off the wind, had the Reflex 3 5.6.

Well done Russ who was the king of Dorans yesterday, that is a great speed. Fantastic work team Henty. Huge well done to everyone with PBs, too many to mention. Good work Dave for the top speed for the day. Well James you finally got to 40. Bad luck Stewy that sounds pretty bad. I had a huge catapult in around the same spot Dave did his. I think Wil might have the footage on his GoPro.

Tracks from Henty - I did one run all the way to the end and it's 3.5km long!!  What we need are a few months of very heavy rainfall to gouge the whole river out a bit more and straighten it up.

Wow, what a team session guys - excellent work and outstanding committment to make us all hate you guys just that little bit more Wink

Really don't know or even try to comprehend how you sail in those conditions - it was cold here on Saturday with 18deg C in the morning.

James, never sail with Izaak again and you'll always have the 2 sec bragging rights over him - what ever he gets in the future just inform him you would have been .3 of a knot faster. Wink

That was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do!  When Perks suggested that we hold back today so that Dave could have a day of glory I thought he had totally lost his marbles. When he explained that Dave had missed the last couple of great sessions and that we needed to keep the captain pumped and stoked by thinking that he had blitzed the day I heeded to the pressure and agreed not to go too far over 40.  I even slowed down as Dave gained on me and let him go past several knots faster, just to make him happyInnocentKiss
