Falcon 112 KAR 7.9 Venom 38

Bit of a recon. mission to Sandy as I hadn't sailed here before. WNW 5-15 kts. Unsuitable angle but had a couple of reasonable runs. Sunny, sand no weed and flat water.. Hoping on getting some more wind from from SW later this week and having a good crack at some decent numbers.

I should throw this gps in to the rubbish box...l have never travelled faster than this afternoon. Used my 6.7m with my isonic 90L and the 19 delta. I should have taken my new little speed board butl didnt want to come back to the shore in case the wind drops. Perhaps l should have. great sailing this afternoon and interestingly not many guys out.

Most enjoyable!

falcon 90 Reflex 4 7.0 delta 19

Well it started out very frustrating with changing gear a few times only to have the wind change again. Then the wind got it's act together and just kicked in and blew solid constant pressure it was awesome. I'm not sure of the strength of the wind but over 25 knots cetainly. I did something different with my 7 metre today. despite the fact that I run it downhauled block to block with the mast base at recommended setting it has always felt to tight in the leech to me. Today I went up a notch on the mast base and gave it an extra half inch of downhaul. Waaay better. lower centre of effort, better gust response and just plain quicker.

The falcon 90 took everything I threw at it today what a beast of a board. I was already rooted by the time the good breeze turned up but I wanted to have a big one so we can try and win it this month so I dug a bit deeper and went for a few big ones. SO powered up OMG lol.  But it was nice constant wind and not bumping me out of my trim like last time. I was barely holding the 7 metre at times at even got backslammed while simply standing up having a break lol but Once I struggled onto the board I just pulled away until it felt good lol. At the end I had to chuck it in as I was so tired my concentration was wandering so I called it before I had a stack.

Tibor was killing it as usual what to privilige to share the water with an icon of the sport. I'm effing delighted with 38 I never thought I'd crack 38 in a million years. My goal this year was break 35 I certainly belted that lol. I have had a tough week with my diabetes really giving me curry I forced myself to go sailing today even though I felt weak and listless what can I say it's only pain I love this sport I'll push it until I croak woo hoo!! lol

Arggghhhhhhhhh that why I can't do 28 knots on my Formula board, it's all about the balls. Your crazy Byron I'm scared at 23 knots on mine. Pumping now Andy - bummer. I think Budgy would be nice now.

Great stuff Cluffy! I always knew it was only the location that was holding you back. 40 next stop.

God I was hoping to break 35 kts this year but its not going to happen.

Love t swap 90 falcons one day.Mines 200and straps are too far apart for my size.Got to get some metal plates to extend the strap positions.

Outstanding Cluffy well done. Timor my Canmore reads slow as well so don't feel too bad I really need to buy a real GPS in the future. The other day I was absolutely flying yet only did 31.9 you get what you pay for.

Thanks fellas! I saw canton as I was heading home it looked bloody rough! Some of the waves were almost breaking. Budgie was patchy with the occassional blast but came through big time later on.

Massive PBs Cluffy - Well done.

And Welcome to Belly25 (Tony), it took a while but finally convinced him to join GPSTC.

It's important to start off with some moderate numbers otherwise it makes it hard to get PBs in the future!

James I would love to see what kind of speed you could get if you ever got the conditions. I've figured how to get good wind at budgie, you just need to sleep in your car with your wettie on and 3 sails rigged. Your day will come mate. Andrew I listened to your wise words the other day it really helped me get rid of a mental barrier cheers mate.

Well done guys top stuff.

so good to have you back cluffy and your story of stoping using a GPS and finding it made you not want to sail as much and now wow back in a big way dude.

Tony so good to have you in the teem I think you will enjoy the GPS experiance and make you windsurfing more enjoyable.
