Gusty, choppy Lucky Bay.

No real chance to do speed runs safely. I discovered this as my body was mangled into my rig right after my best 2 second peak. Well not safe enough for me anyway... CL was doing 38 and 39's!

Naish SP91; Severne Powerdrive 4.8; *new* CL slalom 30cm.

Thanks CL for the run on the fin, and a go on that sweet CA.

An intersting day. Started at Melville about 8.30 wind was good. Sailed for 20 mins before it died completely.Yell Floated on the board for 20 mins hoping for wind as I hadn't bothered to put on an uphaul.Embarassed Ended up with a 20 minute swim to start the day nicely. JPFSW91 5.4 combat, 26FO

Hung around for a bit then gave up got as far down Canning highway as Pt Walter turn off when it kicked back in. Went to Pt W and rigged 5.4 combat, then 6.6 koncept, then 5m combat. Big gusts and nasty chop until it swung late in the day. As you can see it swung quite a lot.

Good to meet John N of SRM, Slowy made an appearance and decimated the chop as usual and Yoyo was just too late. Wind died about 4.45.

Captain checked it and I was under on the Distance sailed ! corrected that now

Went to lucky bay about 12, no wind but rigged up anyway and waited, it turned up after a while Smile

Kombat 79l, 5.8 NP , changed down to 5.0 Ezzy (about 3:30 I think) when it got to be too much. The ezzy was so nice after struggling with the 5.8 before, great to have a solid few hours of wind.

Chris - dont know if i talked to your or not ! I was using a gold neil pryde 5.8 with lots of black tape holding together the panel above the boom. But luckily was on the water most of the time - except at midday.

It was really my first proper day on the river with a GPS and some decent wind, so a lot of fun and nice to get the surprise of what (allegedly) are some PB's

Sorry you didn't have much fun Mineral... Next time will be yours.

I thought it was flat - but overheard people talking about it being choppy - all relative I suppose. Having Chris L go screaming downwind in front of you is a great motivator, and lets you see the course to get a speed run on (copying his run was the area I got the 31 run). I hope the numbers were right but i think the next four 2 sec speeds were all 28+ so it seemed possible to get a 31 - but a big jump from the 26 PB I had before that.  I had an "unnoficial' 28 from the ocean but that was before I joined the team.
