Hard day for me, wind light to kick off, then came in with a vengeance, got caught out 3/4 across the run on a 7.5Surprised

Came in......eventually......Smile changed down to a 5.8 cam sail, back out, second run crunched a gybe and a bottom battenMoney mouth

Packed gear and had a scotch and dry insteadLaughing

Week end was great down there, near on complained because we had too much breeze. Pity as its a near on full days drive to get there from here.

Great representative from Pinnas, Lao shi, Nebbian, PaulD and I,travelled  for the last fun with WSP for the season.Cool

It seems that every time I go somewhere to windsurf I forget something.  This time it was my GPS, and once again Bender came to my rescue with a spare Garmin.  Thanks mate Smile

Initially I was out doing some slogging in a very shifty breeze but it soon came in at a nice strength.  This was the first time that the stars have aligned for me to do some back to back testing of some fins... so I tried as many as I could before running out of time.  The C3 36 Venom wasn't as bad as I first thought it was, in the end there wasn't much, if any difference between it and the CL modified 34.  The MFC Weedburner 29 was way too small for my 6.8, at least as far as I could tell anyway.

Loads of sails out on the water, some very happy faces and even happier faces at the yacht club that night Smile  Great to see a good turnout from the Pinnas and Wozzies, it was great fun drag racing Lao Shi around the inlet, as well as nailing some fully planing gybes.  I reckon that's what windsurfing is about more than anything -- if you can plane all the way through a gybe then you're doing pretty well.  I was also quite surprised to end up in the top third of the results, and I beat Bender's 2 second speed (mine using trackpoints, him using doppler but hey I'll still claim it!).  Realspeed is giving me some funny results for my hour.  I'll update this when I figure it out.

Many thanks to Reg from Windsurfing Perth for organising the weekend, it was a real success.  If you stayed in stinking hot troughed out Perth then you missed out.   Ner ner ne ner ner!!!  Tongue out

Edit: 1 hour figure from GPSAR.

Nebbs

walpole

Spent the morning doing the tree top walk and visiting the big tingle trees. Well worth a visit. Walpole very scenic.

Started rigging the battleship about 1pm with only Nebbs slogging around the inlet. By the time I had rigged I had to switch to the *brd and when I got out I was well over powered! Not what the forecast said!

Came in and rigged the 5.8 (now set on 400 bottom and 430 top X3, worked well!) and went back out on the *brd. Had some great blasts across the inlet. Wind was light on the inside but howling in the middle across to the other side.

Changed down to a smaller fin as the wind picked up further. After a few runs on the speed gun changed to the little slalom.

Finished the afternoon with a blast across the bay and back which was a real leg burner. Claude smoked everybody and passed us with 400m to go having turned round and off to do it again!!!

Brayden won the best crash award although there was tough competition with a short pull up distance after the speed run. His full speed explosion earned him 2 fat lips. Hope Gary is back out on the water soon.

Bender won best reaction award for missing a high speed crash by cm's.

Good fun dragging with Nebbs, Baldy, Reg and others.

KRX7.6, Koncept 5.8, *brd W58, 34, 28cm then JP84 slalom.

Many thanks to Reg for the organisation, the ladies in the boat doing speed recording and Mineral for the transport and accomodation.

It was a long drive but well worth it.

Lao shi,

My first four hour figures all come out at zero, and only the last one has a number next to it?

KA72 gives 12.39, but much different scores for the other numbers.

Bender, by my count even Bundy outfished you today, zero beats minus one in my book Wink

Fantastic weekend all round, I thoroughly enjoyed it, many thanks to you and Mrs Bender for the hospitality.
