Lancelin 20-30 knots, Ezzy Wave 5.0, Starboard Acid 80 litres, Drake wave 23

So good to have a decent wave session again.  Fully lit on the 5.0, I had to come in and reef the outhaul on fully because of the bullets coming through.  Waves were very very decent, a couple of times i wiped out and was glad I was 20 metres upwind of the proper break... it would have broken me into tiny little pieces if I was in the impact zone!  Yowzers.  The sound of an approaching monster really focuses the mind on getting that waterstart happening QUICKLY Surprised

I left Perth with no trees moving, halfway there still no movement, it was only after the ledge turnoff that the wind started.  What a weird pattern, I was talking to the only other windsurfer out there and he said the same thing, and he drove up a couple of hours after me!

One happy and contented nebbian Laughing

Melville in very variable wind conditions. Started on the *brd W58 but the wind died after 10 mins and I nearly had to swim back. Did a walk of shame back to the car park and took out the Battleship. Fun hour and a bit at times totally on the limit. New Battleship PB of 28.61 display getting the hang of the upwind downwind thing. Mineral out on his Yacht too and a few of the southsiders with Bogdog gettting some screamers down the bar. KRX7.6, falcon 84cm, *brd W58.

After being down in the dumps seeing the wind die, it came back this afternoon, enough to get the new 2nd hand 2nd hand 155 Starboard Formula on the water, started with a new  triple 2nd hand Severn 8.5 twin cam, two runs and it blew the down haul out of the sailFrownMoney mouth was right in middle at Lucky Bay when it went off like a shotgun, scared the crap out of meLaughing

Wallowed back in, rigged the Loft 7.4, thought right, lets give this Formula a run proper likeLaughingEmbarassed (first time ever on a Formula Board)

Had great fun on it, spat me out the back a few times in the gustsLaughing. For a while I couldn't work out how to stop the bastard heading off up wind, Mark gave me a few tips and finally one or two good runs. I did move the foot traps right in-board for a start, quickly worked out that its a "standing on the rails thingy" so ended up running most with just the toes in the straps to keep me outboard.

All in all it was a fun day even if I did stuff a sail, and had to resort to the old Loft with more patches than a quilt to finish a session off. Must say I did like the Formula fun, even if my legs are buggered after a six week lay offSurprisedSmile

PT WALTER! That was more fun than I was expecting (well at least after I saw that the forecast was fiction).

Some great practice getting up close to the bank. Had a few runs with board on the water and body over land. Good rush, even at only 30 knots. Had the place to myself the whole time.

Nm has 4 gybes in it...

Wind was patchy and there were plenty of sub-planing times.

Well done guys, I had commitments at 4:00 (kids basketball scorer) so could have only got out early in the day. And of course there was hardly a leaf moving on the trees when I looked. Then when it was too late it looked OK. OH well next time!
