Last ditch session on the run after work.

Arrived at Wallyworld to see Pointman and Yoyo barely planing. As they gave up a massive squall came through. Snides arrived and turned his nose up at the conditions and went to Dysons.

Decided to rig the 5m and use the nonose *brd with a 24cm.

Probably would have gone better on the 84 but no time to change over. Gusty as and swinging all over. One big crash where I copped one in the Kugelsack. A few short squirts from the channel marker in to the bank and bear away. Best speed out in the choppy stuff.

2sec

Very happy with the way this combo handles the chop. Probably underpowered on the few flat water opportunities but still very happy with the result.

Respect to Darryl on the 40 display. Credit to Pointman for a lengthy session without too much reward putting one in for the team. Hope you don't cop too much strife.

Game on Pinnas. Now lets see what the butterflys do.

Long day at the 'Office' (worked from home today Wink ) for a pretty bloody average set of numbers.

Got down to Wallyworld around 1.  It was pissin down and I was sitting in my car waiting for a squall to pass and Yoyo tapped on the window..."What are you gonna rig?".

Rigged my brand new 5.0 Koncept and got into it @ 1.45.  CA47 + 23 F1 Falcon.

First half hour was the usual long-arsed upwind haul to try and get in position for speed run....I'm 30L in the red on this combo and it shows...waterstart...stop...waterstart...stop.  Bloody hard getting upwind in the extreme gustiness and the small fin didn't help.  Eventually got there and started a run in a good 30K gust.  Fully lit and and approaching 35K and I tripped the rail in the chop and had one of those full-on crashes where in the bat of an eye you're on your arse wondering WTF just transpired, sitting in the sail with the boom across my lap.

After the obligatory check that I hadn't broken anything I thought jeez that musta been quick and checked the GPS....faaark no readout, bloody thing had somehow switched itself off, so I don't even have a decent peak to show for my acrobatics Cry

Gave up on this combo, went ashore and switched to the S-type + 28 C3 Venom.  Another hour of graft with not much to show for it (But at least I was sailing and not swimming...I can dog thru the lulls on the S-type).  Yoyo and I both decided to give it away @ 4.

Mark turned up, so I decided to persevere.  Changed up to the 5.8.

Had more joy with this combo, but it was still shifty, gusty and frustrating.

All in all a crap days sailing, but thanks to some good work by Lao and James D the Pinnas are back in second for the month, so I'm rapt Smile

To cap off my day the missus gave me a veritable ear bashing when I got off the water @ 5.30 and called home (admittedly I left six hours prior...bought a mast and a new 5.0 en route so it was a long day).

Chris, I think so. Bloody huge effort for any team including the guys from Pinnas  to post a score like that today. I think James has been waiting for ages to get some wind to blast through and get a decent 2 sec, and not in vane with Mark and Pointman backing him. Cool

Not sure how it will all pan out, as a few yet to post and the gentle breeze heading to SA. Smile And a few over here staging a late run for the line with a final lash at a 1 division honorsWink

great sailing  guys! considering there was no sandbar to run against....Lao's pic shows an exposed sandbar at low tide!

yesterday most of the bar was under water (as usual)

the guys only had a 100 meters or so of flattish water (behind the shrubs) to run through before they where back into river chopSurprised
