Dave and I sailed a new old spot today. Its a place we have been looking at sailing for ages. The southern end of Pittwater at the Sorell end of the causeway. We have sailed the other end heaps of times but never this end. The whole bay is quite flat and has fantastic potential for NM and 1 hours. Rigged the new 2010 121 Isonic wood, SL 39cm fin and new Code Red 7.0. Fairly powered up in the gusts but the wind never really came in. Looking forward to sailing there again ASAP.

As Steve said, never actually rigged and sailed out from where we did today, but have sailed down in this bay a couple of times before.  Wind was great for the first half of my one hr and I was definitely expecting a PB, but then I had what felt like about 10 minutes off the plane before getting going again.  Not long after finishing the one hour the wind dropped, so lucky to get it in at all really.  I reckon this spot will become THE spot for sailing down south for the GPS Challenge.  The water right out in the middle of the bay was really quite flat compared to most other spots we sail.  Cannot wait to sail there again.  Also able to park close to the grass where we rigged, which is right next to a small beach!!  Will post a few photos and GE of tracks.

Bad luck Johno with Stanley not really providing the goods!!  Hope the other guys are getting some distance in!!

Great days sailing. Decided to go out at about ten and sail in the bay with winds from about 12 to 18 knots. Came in and rieged down as thhe wind was begining to pick up fast. Quickly had a bite and headed back out to the river with my speed gear. Very happy and excited about my new board and was pleased with the how it went. We ended up sailing for most of the day and by the end i had to lay down and have  a rest so i could make it back to the house. Pleased with Pb's.

S-type 104 with KA Koncept 6.6, then down to Isonic 50 with code red 5.0

Good Sail today. First up sail in the bay for 3/4 of an hour and then a couple of good hours on the sandbar. Very on and off gusty conditions but got better as the day went on. Congrats to James on his Pb's im going to have to flog it off ya when you're away. Will write more later...........................6 of us out sailing on the sand bar at one point along with new team member grayham who looked like if he got some wind behind him nothing would was going to slow him down. Overall a great sail and a great team effort to pull us into 2nd.

Sonic90, 6.7 CODERED, switched down to 5.6 SSR as it got windier.

Yeah Looks a like a great spot Dave!!!! I would be keen to give it a go. How is the wind in the bay normally: on and off, gusty, big lulls or does it really just depend on the wind???

Hi Jordan, definitely depends on the wind, but it is usually OK here (based on driving past this spot hundreds of times when I used to go to Carlton Beach wavesailing), or at least as good as anywhere else, so hopefully we will start to sail here more often.  Interestingly, where we usually sail at the northern end was crap, which is what it's often like and why we don't sail there very often.  Anyway, time will tell.  It will be interesting to see what direction is best, as this spot can be sailed in almost any direction (literally), a bit like Moulting Bay Lagoon Johno!!

Well done James, really glad you like your new board. I knew you would love it, I bet you end up going faster than me when I used to own it. Well done Izaac, second place you bewdy. Dave and I are planning on going back there tommorow, and the forcast is looking awesome. It was freezing here today, mountain snow. Finger tips felt like they were going to burn off.

Hi Bear, yep, we certainly were, right where all the sharks are!!  I wasn't going to mention that though.  Oh God, now I've gone and jinxed the place!!!  Took me almost an hour to drift back in (up to my knees in water at times) when the wind dropped out and I was just waiting to see a fin.  Actually quite nice and clear water down there, you can see the bottom most of the time and that was on a gloomy day.  Bummer you didn't get a sail in, the wind just dropped out at about 11:30am.
