not a great day with the pin on my mast base breaking just as i cleared the reef heading out to sea,had to drift around for quite a while.ended up on the rocks waiting for strew to bring another mast base out.which made it hard for him due to the wind had died. thanks stew you white night.

Not enough wind unfortunately, rigged the 5.8 RS slalom sail as well which didn't help

Jordan Murray (9123km):

decent sail today if a little patchy at times.

Sailed at Dorans.  Very Gusty, not overly windy and maximum gusts maybe 20 knots.  On the water at 9:30 AM.  Spent hours all up dogging up to my knees.  Wind would come in for 15 minuntes then drop out for 10, did this almost all day.  All up still fun.  Went out thinking all I've got do is go for distance and I have all day to do it and the forecast is good, but gee it's hard when it's up and down like that.  Managed two 1 hrs over 17 knots, which was surprising.  Did try to get two in, but had long slogging periods during both.  Quite a few guys out on bump-n-jump gear, which was good to see.

Well done to the crew up north on getting out.  Sounds like you had similar conditions!!  Well done Izaak and Jordan on your distance.  I was hoping someone else would be getting up the miles!!

Well done team and good to see you clocking up the big kms at Dorans Dave. Must be nice to know the canal development is not going to happen there nowLaughing

Yeah, thanks Johno, where I was mainly sailing is exactly where it would have been built and covering most of the shallows!!  Glad commonsense prevailed and the developmet got the red light from the planning commission.  It's a natural wind funnel there because of the hills on either side.  When the wind swings west, it hardly blows further out, just in that narrow section.  Hardly any wind anywhere else down South and the River was calm when I was driving home!!
