Last sail for the year, more for exercise than I really felt like a windsurf. Manta 64 Vapor 6.7m LE 33cm weed.  Happy New Year to everyone on the challenge, and a safe speedsailing 2010!!!!!!!!!

Nice cruise at Safety Bay

Breeze was a bit patchy at first but filled in to make my combo comfortable, tried taking my carbon art out late but not quite enough in it

Finally found the right setup for my RS Racing 6.7, the trick is to downhaul it until you think something is about to explode then downhaul it another 2 inches past that, and use a new rope every time you rig it

NP RS Racing 6.7, Isonic 101, Flying objects 340 weedy, NP X6 460 Mast, NP X6 180-230 boom with adjustable outhaul, NP Extension, NP base, 2 stainless steel fin screws

Very Happy New Year to Everyone

The runs out to the island were great fun, i should have done a few more

quick blast in the ocean. Finally got the tip extension into my 460 mast, so tried out PKs  ancient Avalon sail co 6.8 on the thommen with the herby modified fin.

Quite pleased, was a little bit overdone windwise, and the fin maybe a tad small for this sail.

But it should be OK for doing distance when it's a bit too light for the 6.0.

Then joined PK, Bugs & Be, and the better half for a cruise on wave gear.

The above figures are the 6.8 and thommen but the alpha is on the wave gear, (underpowered on the 5.3 and blue bean)

I'll join Hardie in wishing every body who reads this a happy new year!

Lechenault Inlet (glory holes) 18-22knts SW'er

F2 SX63 and Missile Small, RSR 7.2m and RS6 6.2m, 32cm custim weedy and 30cm bentonic speed weed

Nice day at my local. Finally got a decent SW'ers so i could fang down the run in mega smooth water.

Very happy to get a max display PB for the 7.2m of 36.7knts.

I better not say any more as my local is just so smoooth ina SW'er and i had it all to myself. 3 NM's of smooth water wiith chop 1-2inches at the most.Wink

Hi Adam. how do you find that FO 34 weedy on your IS101? If you see my post of today , you will see i bemoan its ability to spin out often pushing upwind. I did have a 7.7 on today and I weigh 86kg so be interested in your stats and thoughts. Cheers JC

JC i have found that any sail bigger than my 6.7 will spin that fin out on the 101, the few times i have used my 7.5 with it it has been spinnout central. I now use a choco 40 weedy with my 7.5

NO thanks Bender, I might have a rent inspection that day and will be at Lano late. Plus only planned a little sail in the bay to keep fresh for big race. Might see you then...
