Tabou rocket 95, 29cm mfc weed, 5.8 koncept, Got to novara around midday just in time to see Elmo and Decrep rigging up as the wind was filling in. Wasnt sure about what to rig so I opted conservatively with a 6.2 hellcat, still managed to get it wrong. Came back in after 10 mins and changed to the koncept.

Watched Mike "the machine" going down the run on the inside of the markers so I thought I'd give it a go. What could go wrong?  I often wonder how many disasters start out with those words. There was just enough water to clear the 29cm weedie, though it did hit some patches that had the old freckle chewing the wetsuit a bit.

All in all, a top day, with a couple of pb's thrown in, the beers cold, the kids have deserted me, life doesnt get much better Cool

Congratulations Pepe On the 3 PB's Awesome work there MateCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Had been keeping an eye on this forecast for a while, hoping to make a bit of a day of it, not to anything spectacular just rack up some Km's on my new toy and try and work of a kilo or 2. For better or for worst the wind came in a bit stronger than what was forecast and I seemed to be a bit out of tune with the changes due to my laxidaisical buggerising around todayEmbarassed That said I still had a ball with lots of fun to be hadCoolCool

Heres how it went

Rocked down to the run at around 10 this morning to see Decrep already rigged up, wind looked light (read almost non existant) so after watching MIke chugg around a bit I went big

JP SS 127L, Gaastra Nitro 2 10.9m, Selct Weed 47.5cm.

Fisrt time out with the Nitro, Holy snappin duck poo thats a farken huge sail, coulda sliced washers of my freckle when tying to downhaul this monster.

Hit the water and it was light thought it was game on when on my firt run pumped it onto the plane went for the footstraps only to have the breeze vanish, chugged around plowing up huge clumps of snot tilll the wind started picking up, getting the board onto plane was happening fairly easily, though I gotta admit I was a bit intimidated by the size of this monster, didn't help that I couldn't rely lean into the harness without overloading the fin.

The wind kept picking upCoolSurprised oh dear I'm realy starting to feel the size now, it's also creating a craphouse load of lift getting the nose of the board up and floating around, Last run ended with me wondering what the hell I'm doing trying to hold the nose down when I run over a boat wake and discover how light the nose is before getting a roundhouse slam, which tore a strap of my camel packYell.

Back to shore, which was quite fortunate for me as the wind picked up another 5 knots in 5 mins

So I went for my second set up of the day.

JP Slalom VI 65cm, NP RS4 6.7m, JP Freeride Weed 36cm then JP Freeride Weed 31cm.

Went out on this combo which was the one I'd planned on using for most of the day for racking up some K's, after the second run I knew it just wasn't going to be the wind kept picking upEmbarassed so thought I would see what I cpould get out of the new board, pretty happy getting 34's with the 36cm fin and 35.08 with the 31cm fin, ended up flaging it when the board was getting way to airbourne coming out of the run.

JP Speed 54, NP RSR 5.8m, Elmo SS weed 29cm

Eventually succumed and rigged the speed board, chucked on the bigger fin as it was v-bumpy on the edge of the run, watched Pepe belting through the Middle of the run so I thought I to can close my eyes clench and go through there, all in all it was pretty good with only one butt clenching moment with some rogue snot.

Eventually was to sore and tired to cary on which was a shame as the wind kicked up a couple of knots when I got out of the rubber, ummed and arred about chucking it back on which got decided when I tried walking and ended up hobbling (curse you gardening).

Brown trouser moment of the day was when waiting to waterstart having something swimming bump into my calf with a sizeable bump

A great day out, lots a fun with a great crewCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Congrats to Pepe!!!!! Fantastic effort mate.

Went out early with the Pete's 6.8 on the thommen with the Herby fin, but only got on the plane very briefly, then the wind died.

Watched Elmo on the 10.9m, when he started to hang on, went back out, got a 32 with this combo.

Wind picked up a bit more, so rigged the 6.0 lightning and tried the repaired Ado lockwood 23cm 30deg fin.

Went surprisingly well, it looked a bit short for the thommen, but in the flat water it was fine, got a 34.1 and the 31.9NM with this, a PB for the thommen and the 6.0.

Think I like this fin!!!!

Then stuck the 6.0 on the old speed board with the 23cm 40deg sym fin, didn't go any faster. Came in for a break, rigged the 5.2 X15 and changed to the 19.5cm asyy 45deg fin. got  35.59 on the GT31 display first run, spent the rest fo the afternoon trying to improve it, but wind was swinging more square and it sisn't happen.

Just landed this morning and bring the wind with me for a change, out of night shift and no sleep.. I feel tired now Embarassed

CoolGreat day at hards even was not super speed I had a ball sailing with Ado first and then Mike & Snides.. great to catch up with Pauly "Master PBs", Elmy, Nebs (that disapeared for hours with Ado), and Matt which I had few laps with. We finilly made it to the run after months of frustration Cry... This time too much water = choppy (wind direction was off-set), for max speed... but I really enjoyed today. Smile and for the cherry, a mini NM PB yeeeaaahhh, I had quite few 32++ and 33+

Awsome Ado for taking the day with a 39++ max, great stuff PePe, slowly but certainly.. baby steps CoolCool, well done

I wished I had my fav fin 245/40, but is on the bench for repair.. I would have done better I think!! So I used today my first trusty home made fin (which was rock solid but a bit draggy!!)

CA44, RSS 5.8, 235/45_SS, at the end had a test of 225/40_SS_WING (worked great with the 5.0, was a bit slippery with the 5.8!)

GREAT FUN, GREAT FUN Cool

Glory Holes in crappy on/off SE rthat swung from S through to the E  15-28knts

F2SX63, RSR Evo1 6.7m, 32cm JP slalom weedy

Rocked up after a shit day at work listening to the wind rattle the tin on the office . It was blowing hard but looked like it was full of holes. Glory holes is more like crap holes ina SSE'er.

It was good to get wet.
