Went down to Mandurah to attack the hour in an attempt to lift our team ranking for the month.

The breeze was around 18 but some fluky patches had me nearly dropping off the plane a couple of times.

North Warp F2010 7.0, Manta 59II, Talon 34

Quick blat at Melville with Glenn and others from about 5.40pm.

Some nice bullets coming over the shallows.

09 Tabou Manta 64, 10 Koncept 6.4, 34 Talon.

Nice effort down there Ado - Slowey may back you up as he appeared from the distance of the river as I was heading off - may have done some hour, nm and distance stuff!

KA 72 "auto-post" is great - well done and thanks Dylan!!

hey Dylan... nice work with the speed reader! Works great! First try.

Ado, Sorry I wasnt there to back you up. The new weapon wasnt ready until it was too late, and I really needed to give it some curry to see if it was the goods. Was looking OK at Melville so decided at the last minute to stay local. Wouldnt have got on the water at manbra till ~4:30.

Broke in the very very green 54 nude streaker V1 proto. Tongue out Used the 7m EIII, started with KA23S but that was too small so put on a 28CLSL, which was also a bit small. Headed to wally world but was having trouble upwind with the 23, so back to smellville where I put the bigger fin on. Was catching loads of weed on the sandbar at melville. Got my fastest 2 runs there in a couple of small gusts. Then decided to test the chop handling of the board so did a mission down to peli. That was fun. Wind was dropping a bit so was underpowered whenever I tried a run. Got one nice gust but had weed on the fin so was slow. Next try was no gust but still got a 37 on the dial. Then started the mission back to Melville which took a long time being so underfinned in very marginal wind. Got back after sunset... but it added some Ks. All up stoked with the proto.

You can see the walk of shame at the end... and a lot of tacks to get up wind (there were no whitecaps).

Crabland for the hr with Ado and successful it was .I used to shy away from hrs thinking it was booring just going back and forth for a whole hr but am finding the 5-8km legs at hardies realy give you time to work on your trim and relax into speed had 3 x28knt and a 30knt nm during the hr.This particular venue does help, I recon its got a 27knt hr in it !

Quick sail between work meeting and sailing (yachting) meeting, great use of some spare time.

Tabou 59 6.6 Ka Gold wing 32

After a quick chat with schnides took one last run across to Heathcote. On the way back the swell lined up with a great southerly gust and seeing my pb nm time was on the river figure this could be a pb opportunity. Be keen to see how it compares. Not flash but a pb is a pb.

Geat session and slowies new board looks like the Mistral Screamer that was my first ride on a short board in the late 90's.

ummm interesting- lots of sabre rattlin type talk!

personally i think its going to be close to impossible to beat  any team that has a 3 month discard...

peli 15 to 25kn great wind and pretty flat for peli

manta54,rssmk2 5.4,falcon 26

underfinned but too lazy to change up

first sail for 2 weeks or so.

had a couple of runs on slowys NUDE Streaker V1....found it was VERY difficult to fault (colour could of been tinted darker)

this guy definetly knows what he is doing when it comes to board and fin design!

Great work team ! I went out at PP late but unfortunately my GT31 did not record a file today ? Don't know why, was working out on the water. I tried an old file on the KA72 speed reader and that works a treat. So easy to use - well done Dylan.

Uploading of file somewhat belated. Thanks Ben for the IT assist !

Great stuff with the hour PB there John - and a massive improvement too!

Now we are at least in sight of the other Aussie teams and just need to crank out some alphas.

As for the JP/NP.56 knots blah blah...yeah well, we still have some work to do....

Great hours guys!

Maybe we have to change our team name Chris? Any suggestions? We can call it JP/NP Mobs Netherlands. If we do it like this we can invite more people like Gerlof Hansma & Adriaan van Rijsselberghe for example. Gerlof did only 45,9 knots topspeed but he is doing huge distances, hours and alpha's every session anyway. Last year he did 14606 kilometers. This can be a usefull person for our team.

Nice to see how motivated everybody is on this website and what this challenge is doing with us and all the other dutch people.

Jacques, the trouble with having an invincible team, is after a while it could get boring. (And you guys are looking close to that already)

Why don't you encourage the other guys to form their own team?

Ado & Recycle, nice to see you guys down our way, it was good conditions for the hour today, enough wind without too much chop.

Hi Decrepit.

I send Ben already an email to change the name to JP/NP Mob Netherlands. Then we feel more at home here, haha.

We have already the smallest team on this website with only 5 persons, so by adding a few persons this will be more in balance with the other teams aswell. And after a while we all need a break and with more members we don't have to do all the stuff everytime with 2 or 3 persons. And SRM was unbeatable for 3 years in a row, i think that's also boring.

"And SRM was unbeatable for 3 years in a row, i think that's also boring"

Most years its come down to one month of points and some dedication to compete on level turf with other teams by flying to the other side of the country. We dont win every month.

Also our teams are reasonably spread out as far as skill goes. eg we dont have teams of 5 with the 3 best internationally ranked national competitors (all in the top 10 overall in the world Surprised) + one more who is always in the top 10 overall in GP3S, from a country with maybe 10 times the active speed sailors of Australia. Wouldnt it be more fun to have your 5 team members all in different teams so you can actually compete against each other and encourage a few other sailors to step up? Just an idea Tongue out We found this works quite well here and doesnt get too boring.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your team name Jacques, I'm just jealous.

We just have to go faster now if we want to win - that's why it's a "Challenge", and that's great!

Great hours guys Cool (Ado, your fav combo, its getting harder to crack a PB isnt it!?, need the perfect timing with the wind now!!)

Slowy, I love your cruise around.. very professional Wink

Craig and Stringer, don't worry about your NM, just come one day down to hardies on the right day and you ll blow it awayTongue out, don't need to go in the run to get a 30 over there, you can do this on the outside Wink

I can see everyone was starving for wind Laughing

It is great to have such awesome sailors joining in.

No point in being a big fish in a small pond.(I am a very little fish)

Bring on the worlds best and lets swim in a huge pool.

A couple of years ago as a mug I had the pleasure of sailing with the likes of Agera, Beale, Slate, McGain and many others in the Mauii Slalom series and at Sprek's in the open ocean and "speed" track. This gave me direct feed back of how good you can be and it was inspiring if not a little humbling.

Welcome to the Dutch lads

Great team session SRM.

There's a few heavy hitters amongst the UK teams also. Once they defrost, watch out for some great results from there also.

More the merrier.

My first challenge is myself, second, line up your team mates who are going faster, and third if your combined result register somewhere in GPSTC then great.

Mister Lockwood! Last 2 months we set our results in south of France, you know how far away that is from our local spots. So you can say we did a lot of effort and bought the results these 2 months.... And for such a small country we already have 7 Teams! You know also that we are not the only strong Team in Netherlands, check who is sailing in Wad1Team, Speed Team Makkum and Dutch Fun Speeders for example.

JP/NP Team doesn't include Dutch Champion Speed Peter de Wit, Record Holder 500 meter Dirk Doppenberg, Fastest Run on Karpathos 2009 Dirk Jan Knol, Dutch Champion Slalom and Formula Dennis Littel and PWA sailor Peter Volwater. These guys are in the other Dutch Teams. And than i'm not even mention all the other fast riders who are competing aswell, to many to mention.

Probably the rest of this season we will compete all on the same spots (Brace) and this will be a challenge for sure and no Team will really stand out from the rest, we all have to work hard for it. Its to early to judge, we were just very lucky last 2 months.

SRM will probably smoke everybody again the next 9 months, i just realize by reading the comments how motivated and dedicated everybody in your Team is to do well in all categories every month. We will also loose Ben van der Steen the rest of the season as he is doing PWA. Martin is only doing 2sec and 5x10 sec, so it all come down to me Hans and Barry.

And what us really motivated to make at least a few competitive teams was the posting from Joseph Presti 25 december 2009 on GPS3;

http://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx?mnu=forum&forum=1&val=18597

It doesn't make sense to split our Teams even further and to let you guys win again, we are not stupid, but nice try;-)

The other Dutch Teams are so strong that they can affort it to use the first 3 months as a discard;-)

Onya Jacques, I'm really glad there are some new teams to give the SRM some curry Wink

I think Slowy was taking the piss to be honest, as one could easily level the same criticism against SRM (That they have cornered the talent in WA) Tongue out

Jacques, I know how far that is... Its a great effort and over here we are just jealous that you have some wind at your doorstep (relatively) Surprised. I drove the back roads once and ran out of fuel in the early hours unable to find an open gas station. Spent a cold few hours before sunrise in the back of the van waiting for one to open. But its a windy and flat spot down there so lucky you can drive.

I think its going to be a fun year!!! As long as we all get some wind to play.
