lao shi (41082km): I was Captain Slow today! Got to Peli after a day of digging out stumps and pruning trees to see Jake flashing around. Did my duty and went for the hour on the JPFSW91 (other gear has sold) and the Warp 6.3 with a 29cm carve fin( way too small and curvy!) Did not work well. Nothing felt right. Spent most of the hour trying to stay upwind and felt like I was going sideways. Very uncomfortable and frustrating hour. Had another go and crashed getting a nice bruise across the shin from the mast. Should have kept going to back up Snake but had an attack of the grumps and called it (Sorry Snake!) On the positive side it was windy as I was packing up and great to see a good collection of Pinnas chasing each other around the river. Welcome Obelix (good effort on 8m and 160L) glad you got to meet a bunch of the team. Great to see Marcel out with the GPS on!
Obelix (3335km): My first, yeee...!!! Fanatic Shark 160L, Gun 8.1m m sail, Fanatic 52cm fin. Managed both straps, even managed to harness in every now and again. Easy waterstarts with 8m sail, but mainly holding onto the boom using brute force and feeling like Popeye now... Still, it was fun, as short as it was. I met 5 guys from the team , which was great. Thanks Mark for all your help to get me going. Much appreciated.
Marcel (1692km): Good to get out on the new board and have a speed session. Great to sail with the crew again - what a top bunch of people! Getting used to the new board; heaps to learn before I can really get comfortable on it. Great to meet a new Pinna! isonic 105, FO Weedie 32, 7.5 Ezzy
Pointman (25522km): Fantastic sesh at Peli in a solid 18-23K seabreeze (how good is it to still be getting seabreezes in mid-April!!) Well-powered for the most part on the Futura 111 + 7.5 Koncept + 40 Talon. A couple of holes in the hour, but pleased to at least crack a 20. Great team turn-out with seven Pinnas on the water today! Didn't get to meet Danijel (next time mate), but great to sail with a bunch of crew. Really good to see Marcel posting again (onya mate...did me for speed today), and fun chasing the Snake across the river.
Snake (23888km): Bah! Overwrote my session...anyway Great session down at peli with the team today. Good to catch up with everyone and a noteable mention to Greg the wailing banshee who was screaming (quite literally ) along today haha nice work team Sonic 85, CR 6.7, Goldwing 32
Jeff (13640km): Great to get on the water - feels like ages since the last sail (I know it was only a week but even so!) Got to use my new (Marcels old) 6.5 for the first time, a bit of outhaul made it rotate much better ! Used the sonic 95 but kept thinking of the CA sitting in the car but I dont think there was enough wind to use it and now I will never know. Good to meet Obelix ! Welcome aboard, dont get too used to having so many of the team in one spot at the same time, I think its close to a record.
Chris Porter (11725km): Great way to end the week with a Peli Pt blast. Stronger than I was expecting, so didn't have my little board which would have been better in the swan ocean chop. ....got whooped by a wave sailor... good on ya Marcel, you looked locked in and fast out there. We'll have to get you to Pt Walter soon to get the heart rate up a bit.
