A sweet easterly on Lake Burley Griffin late this afternoon. One of those "little gems" of a session. Haven't sailed for quite a while (since Dahab, early November), so happily handed gear over to Sam for a few runs - he had rigged a bit small. Gave my bones a rest. Smile Never knew my board could jump - great to watch Sam in action.

JP xCiteRide 130, Naish Sprint 7.3 and JP 44cm fin (a bit big at times)

CA SL45/3.6 xs-1

sailed for 3 fantastic hours, the eastily started light at 16 knots but it got up to 25 before suunset

my GPS stoped recording my data after 4 km's ,I estimate I did over 25

but still beat my top speed PB by 2 knots and that was when the wind was still at its lightest

when the wind got strong ,I got even faster

Dad and I are guttered that we don't have the data for the last 2 hours of strong wind sailing

Oh well, wait for the next wind day

Another pb Alex.  Good one.  Nothing worse than having your GPS stop at the wrong time, but should be more easterlies next week, you'll have 25 in the bag within days. Bristol back on the water with some pbs also. You can't beat a good Canberra easterly.

A Tabou Rocket Karl. Good board for open water. Soft rails, deep concaves, always feels cruisy, but it's just as fast as anything else.  In the days before GPS you would have said it was slow.

Yes I have Tabou Rockets too, a 140L and 105L models. They are a bit old now as I think they are 2006 models but they are still good. I've tried a few other similar types of boards, the JP X-Cite Ride and Starboard Futura. They are both very good but the Rocket is up with them.
