Safety Bay, WA, AU Futura 101, NP SR Slalom Mk III 7.0, JP 36cm weedy and lessacher chamelion 28cm

Was gunna head south when Sammy called and said he was staying local so decided to back him up. Wind was very gusty and would shift from time to time when it was most inconvenient.

Changed down to the chamelion as the 36cm fin was bouncing whenever i ventured over the bar, have forgotten what a good fin it is so grippy for it's size, it may come back out more often now i have remembered i have it

Managed to convince Bender to have a go out here, Elmo also joined us.

Again lots of fun but wind wasn't quite there to make it really exhilarating.

Bender got a 31 then changed to wave gear, I was tempted to join him, but the crowd was too big, and waves too few and far between.

Used the 48cm speed board 6.0 avi sail and tried my latest fin, a 20cm version of the 23cm ado lockwood, worked well, had one big spin out I couldn't recover from, but it was fairly lumpy out there.

JP Slalom VI65vm, NP RSR 6.7m, JP Weed 36cm

After a morning of gardening was feeling a bit second hand and was coming up with a stack of excuses not to go for a sail.CryEmbarassed

That was till the Bendyman gave me a call and said the decrepit 32knot Avalon challenge was on as the swell was smallish and the wind was 6.7ish, so I left the wave board at home and loaded up (after doing the dishes, hanging out some washing and fixing up a boom head), got down there to see an ok wave and Bender and Decrep flying around on the ocean.

I sat there for a while watching most of the Perth windsurfing comunity turn up at avalon for a wave sail and thought just as well I left the board at home. Rigged up my kit  and was getting into my glad rags when Bender comes in and says he's going out on his wave kit (I'd already seen him catch a couple of waves with his slalom kit).

Went out. found the gap in the reef and had a ball, blasting out on slalom kit into a surfable swell, was amazed that I was jumpingSurprised and most importantly landing the jumpsSurprisedCool, was awesome fun, made my way up to the point and Decreps run launch site, first run was interesting as my ongoing battle with booties (f'ken useless things) continued, found with Decreps line I was running out of puff so I had to go squarer into the waves, which although slower was fun.

Got some great runs and had a lot more fun out there than I would have had on the estuary, I even made a couple of wobbly gybes out the back.

At the end of the day my ocean skills aren't up to Bender or Decreps level as they quite easily kicked my fury red freckle, but I don't care because that was funCoolCoolCoolCool

Thanks BenderCoolCool

SBay with Adam...Farking fantastic late 17/19h session, specially the last hour when everyone left, was the only one with 3 kiters Cool. Did don't want to deal with the yesterday traffic Yell, and wanted to sail 5.8 agaaaain (I am a softy I know). Would have love to sail Mandurah buuut....

Absolute ball for me, even just nicely cruisy on the 5.8, not enough for Alpha even was flater. I suspect I spotted a Perth boy, I think maybe Borgy charging down the pond corner !!!Wink

SmileSmileSealedSealed Now I know what the estuary shit eating grin is about!!!

Got down the run at 1 ish. Knew it wasn't going to be the speed sailing day we had all hoped for all week, so rigged big and thaught I'd have a crack at the distance game. Very happy with the combo. I've re named it the 'comfort inn'. Could have sailed for daysLaughing. Very effortless. Happy days.

Hardies Run, WA, AU change of board today.screamer concept 101lit oldie, but feels great with tr-6 5.9,will move the footstraps back on my next run, and feel very confident this will get me my 30kts,mabe tomorrow if the winds are good, consistant wind would be great, none of this wind dropping out when your halfway through a run.

F2Sx68, RSR Evo1 6.7m, 34FO weedy(due to cray ropes all over the shop)

Fun quick blast trying to beat Decrep's Avalon record of 32.8knts. I would have been happy with 32.9 but the wind wasn't there. I did a few runs on Mikes run (the way out) but found my prefered run (the way in) heaps faster. i got a 31.01 on the dial but wasn't powered up enough. The whole time  i couldn't really concentrate as waves were breaking. Got a couple on the go fast kit and came on and rigged the wave gear.

More Great Work Tom

Darth now that most of the touros have gone home that was about normal, they are easy to deal with as we are going about twice their speedyou just sail over them and cut them off, the hardest part is gybing in the corner you really have to pick your gap
