Fun little blat at Melville.

Futura 111 + 7.6TR7 + 40 Talon.

Missioned up to Pt Walter and for a nice change it was fun up there.  Went for a few alpha's and happy with a near-23.  I was pinching too high on entry to get a quicker one.  Chris, Mark and Slowy also up there blasting around.

Breeze seemed to be backing off so I scooted back to Melville before it died.

Went for one more run, but Huey had turned the tap off.  Still a good little sesh. Cool

Melville Beach, Bombora 135, KA 7.5m.

Fun session at Melville. A few complete gybes, and a few almost complete...
Mostly underpowered on 7.5,but looking at the Seabreeze, it was all "green". I presume this is typical then.

Melville is nice. The water is flat, but but I really needed another 2 knts of wind on this gear.

Soooo keen to ditch work and get on the water, but when I got to PW I realised I had left my 6.4 at home... Jemma saved the day by bringing it down with Arie for an arvo at the river. It was a race against time in the fading wind.

Then I trod on some sort of fish and got spiked....

So I sailed angry and it seemed to pay off!

Had a good session, but was always wishing the gusts were stronger.

Great to catch up with Mark, Anita and Slowy again, and good to see Greg out doing some laps.

Wallyworld came good for a while until Slowy turned up. Couldn't believe ha rigged a 5.5 and the 42 wide board.

Huey laughed and turned the wind down a notch and tweaked the direction to make it the usual gusty experience.

Had a short go on the patched up dried out nonose with a 26 falcon. Hard going upwind but good off the wind.

LB7,s100, Bandit 30, nonose, falcon 26.

Well done, Windxtasy and Obelix on the PBs.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

6.2 reflex, 85 sonic, 30 jp sl, 26 jp sp

got out for a late sail went out to start with on my slalom fin, being very powered up i thought i might give my speed fin a try thinking i might get close to 30 knots, but in fact the 26 was just a little too small for the day it's best run was about 0.25 knots slower than my slalom fin

Point Walter, WA, AU

Mostly 18-20 knots, 85L Sonic, 5.7 Koncept, 30 cm fin and then one a little shorter... Embarassed

A lovely afternoon and a fun sail with good company. On my first run the wind was 23 -25 knots and I thought I may have rigged too big.  My hat blew off (that hasn't happened for a long time), and I came in to put the hat in the car so the cord wasn't garotting me.  Went for another broad reach and could feel the board smoothly accelerating on the lovely flat water. It felt so good and not at all scary so I was surprised to see 27.7 on the GPS. (Usually I'm hanging on for dear life when I get around 27) I thought maybe I could achieve my goal of 30 knots on a bear away but then Slowie came along and the wind shifted and dropped a little. I couldn't get over 25 knots after that, but I was happy to have achieved close to a PB (you never can tell as the peak speed always gets reduced a little from what shows on the screen) and so the rest of the afternoon was fun and I managed to complete another gybe to top it all off. Whoo hoo! So far all of my gybes have been at Pt Walter. I don't seem to be able to gybe anywhere else!

2 PB's, a second best 5 X 10 and a third best distance. A good session.

The only downside of the afternoon was hitting a rock with Mark's new fin EmbarassedEmbarassedEmbarassed and when I jumped off the board to prevent further fin damage I hit a rock and now have another bruise to add to my collection...

Thanks guys. I was hoping for 30 today after that first run and I think I would have achieved it if the wind hadn't shifted and dropped.

Slowie, I didn't tell you I'd scored a PB because my last PB was 27. something and I couldn't remember exactly how much.

Congratulations on your PB's Sean and Danijel. Danijel you always seem to be at Melville when I'm not there!

I think I might have to join the Pt Walter Mob. It's the only place I can gybe.

Hey which two of you were chasing the Rotto ferry? It looked so cool. You seemed to be doing the same speed as the ferry and it looked like you were waterskiing (with a sail) behind it. Actually from where I was watching it looked like the sailor in front could have been hanging on to the back of the ferry tailgating it.
