nebbian (8313km): Pinnaroo Point, WA, AU Had a bit of a blat on the slalom gear just for grits and shiggles, couldn't let that lovely 20-25 knots go to waste!
Jonah (2414km): Safety Bay, WA, AU arrived safety bay about 1400 looked promising for good times rigged 6.7 and isonic 87 with 32 canefire, the locals enjoyed me walking to the water and then cursing as i trawled back and forth trying to kick the weed off, then i remembered mark saying you need a weed fin at safety bay....bugger. Not to waste the day i put my 111 on with the monster jp 36 weedie i used in the ledge to lancelin and despite being well over boarded and over finned got a 33.78 (that what it said on my gps but only says 33.6 on here). never been over 30 knots on the 111 before so am gutted didnt have a weedie for the 87! next time!
paddymac (10937km): Pelican Point, WA, Sonic100, Koncept6.6, GW32 Very quick blat down at Peli 18-25kts. Some cccrrrraaaazzzzzyyy chop out in the guts. Didn't get things dialled in fully, but had some fun to finish the weekend.
Chris Porter (11725km): A bit of fun at Wally World. Good to share some laps with Hardpole, Steve M and 2 Johns. The wind was much better than I was expecting and I had a good solid session. Great way to wrap up the weekend. CA SP47; Stealth 6.4; FO Weedster 260
Pointman (25655km): Epic sesh at Safety Bay. After missing the late sesh when it kicked in last Saturday I booked a late leave pass and got down there @ 4. Breeze was solid 20-25K, so rigged the TR7 6.6 + 93 S-Type + JP 31 weedie and hit the water at 4.30 intending to bust out some alphas. Low tide and very shallow on the bank...I ran aground on my second alpha attempt and got pitched over the front, so abort alpha mission, launch speed mission....plugged in the CA47 + 23 KA assy for only the second time this season. Really nice to be back on the candy as Crasher would say Next 90 minutes was awesome fun tearing down the strip with Slowy and Mark. Stoked to see a 40.15 display speed on my best run, and double-stoked I didn't get 'Real-Speeded' to a sub-40 peak Smashed my 5x10 PB by over a knot, so it was one of my best speed sessions ever. Safety Bay rocks! Combo felt fantastic, the TR7 had plenty of grunt, but still wanted more wind. Board and fin were absolutely rock solid and never ever felt like letting go. Sailed til dusk (Slowy reckoned the breeze might boot in after sunset). It didn't, but the run was uber flat at the end there. In fact I could barely waterstart and sailed in sitting on the tail of my board going dead square downwind. One happy camper.
lao shi (41082km): Well done Jonah on the PBs. Sorry about the weedie. I saw you out there but lost track of you. Pointman!!!!! You were smoking out there today. Sorry about the back up Big increase in 5x10 and 40 on the dial. Doesn't get much better. Safety Bay was sweet with a nice long run of flat water on the bar. Made the mistake of rigging the 5.7 thinking it would kick in but it didn't happen and never really felt powered up. Best 10 sec was 35. In desperation rigged the Loft just before sunset but the wind was dropping and i didn't go any faster. The 5.7 feels super comfy but needs a good 30 knots. North warp 5.7, nonose, Elmo banshee (squealing a plenty today)24cm weedy.
Jeff (13640km): An unfortunate gardening decision on Saturday morning left me busy until 2 on Sunday. Thought about saftety bay but my exhaustion and time limits meant Melville was a much better option Sonic 95, 6.5 Infinity, JP weedy Sailed up to PW, saw Chris, decided after crashin on the run and leaving the fin sitting 5ml out of the box I had better get back to the car. Screwdrive taking the pressure off and the whole lot slid back in. Unless I left 5ml free on the front bold I dont know how that happed, felt/sounded like a rock. I was pretty sure the 31 on the dial was the catapult but KA73 has given it to me as 2sec. Tried out the the green board and Choco weedy later on at Melville. Ran out of time to play with it but managed a couple of jybes, need to practice more !.
