Hardie (35858km): First sail after back injury dfeel like a cripple Gusty Winter frontal conditions 5 to 22 kts with lots of nuffink TR-4 6.3m iSo 86 LE weed 27cm, good to be back on water
Elmo (31700km): JP Slalom VI 65cm, NP RSS MkIV 7.0, Elmo +10º 36cm, JP Weed 36cm Really wanted to have a wave sail today especialy after hearing about Bendymans Awesome session down at Cowaramup this morning (You better post a good yarn!!), but unfortunately when I got down the beach it was looking quite junky and very little wind, so after a chat with a few villains who had been out I toddled of to the run. Got down there to see Hardz and Decrep Beclamed and a monster High tide (this global warming is a load of bollocks...not) the boys still recommened rigging up as there were lulls then it would be game on so I did. First session with the 7.0 so it was a bit of taking a stab at the settings, straight of the shore it felt real good although my boom and mast foot weren't right as the board was doing some huge wheelies on my first run, I was going for a Naughty but chickened out at the last minute to do some tweeks, spewing another 200m and it would have been a +30. My peak speed was 34.02 on the dial, spent most of this run airbourne at the end missed a better 5x because I don't like sailing by myself so only had 4 decent runs. Really happy with the 7.0 which replaces my dearly departed 6.7 RSR.
Cheryl tested the impact strength of her mast with her forehead resulting in a nice egg on her head.
Decrepit (54840km): joined hardie, elmo and cheryl at the run. Tried the new 53cm out. Looks like my new scales have improved my volume calculations. I worked out 90litres, and it floats me and rig easy, hardie just sinks it. Wind was all over the place so rigged the 6.0 tight and used the 24cm weedie. Managed to hitch onto a couple of gusts, but mainly it was a bit too choppy when I had enogh wind. Couldn't find any water flat enough to try it's alpha capabilities, but I think it'll be good.
Adam (8003km): Safety Bay, WA, AU, CA SP50, NP RS Slalom Mk IV 6.2, sawn off flying objects weedy Missed a pressure band that came through whilst rigging waited 40 minutes then managed to get sailing for 1 pressure band then had to swim home, found a random flat on the bar and opened it up once to a decent result but ran into swell very quickly
Bender (23190km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU SSW 25 then 15knts F2SX XS , Evo2 6.2m, 32F1 Got to my local right on 4pm. The wind was howling. i was pretty excited as i had not seen so much wind in a long time. I was happy to use my new small slalom board (replaced the CA SL52), Rigged the 6.2m but was very close to pulling out the 5m as the wind was pretty strong. As i hit the water i got 2mins of being powered up after that it was just planing as the wind kept dying. The little SX'y feels great. The ride is more alive than the old 52. It planes earlier and sloggs ok. And just for Elmo i scored some nice sizey bombs surfing this morning at Cowtown before meeting a new client onsite down there.. Big and bumpy but loads of fun all the same. Got some nice solid over head drops before the wind came in killed it. Definately the bigest waves i have sup'ed |
