DanP (6466km): Swan Bay, VIC, AU Was on the road at about 5:30 to meet Mick at Queenscliff to get the 8am ferry. When we got to the sailing club at Swan Bay we stood and talked for ages with Red & Jacques, i wish we had've just got on the water as it died out later... ah well. Red & I chased each other around for a bit (thought i'd be closer to your speed Red considering i was passing you on those reaches. You must've had a better bear away). The wind then died out and we sailed off the sailing club untill it completely disappeared. Overall a pretty fun day and nice to get a long run in there for a NM, however dissapointed with how the wind ended up, if it was as forecast it would've been awesome. Drift (6257km): LOCATION: SWAN BAY WIND: N-5-18KTS LOW TO MID TIDE GEAR: Ca FR 77, Makani 33cm Weedie, KA Koyote 7.4 .DETAILS: Another session at Swan Bay....Looked at the forecast so didn't bring my bigger sail....bugger!...the wind didn't really fill in. Spent a few frustrating runs just touching the bottom and not quite enough grunt to get on the plane. In the gust, it was good but then sadly, the gusts became few and far between. The new weedie felt nice and locked in but I would have liked a bit more consistency so I could really give it a good run. Once again though, the long runs were great..a good chance to tweak! | ||||||||||||||||||
