Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU  A big day out for the Gustbusters. An unexpected westerly for this time of year. Naish hybrid, Jase's 28cm weedie.  5.7 Hellcat.  2009 was a very good year for Helcats.

Big westerly on the lake. Not sure whats going on with the 2 second peak?

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU

Westerly, gusting to 40 knots, choppy at times and weedy, but plenty of water.

Started early on the 6.5 but soon was smashed by the building wind. Changed down to the 5.5 but was still too large. Fortunately the wind backed off a bit. Finished up back on the 6.5, until the wind petered out.

Great fun sailing with the team - Darren, Ian, Anibal, Jase, and Keef - top effort guys.

Well done on the new top speed  Glen.   And consistently speedy, the 5 by 10 is not far behind.  4 pbs in the one day! That'll be hard to beat.

My GPS intervals were too long I had a look in the settings according to Chalko. i think I reset it when I was trying to remember how to set up the GPS for Anibel. Bummer!

Looks like we will all have to go sailing again soon.

We were all wondering where you were Leo.  For future reference the Albion Park anemometer is the one to look at when you're stuck at work.   The lake's probably a bit more exposed than the anemometer at Albion Park.  So yes Bushfre's right, it was a "gusting to 40"  day.

Hi Akim, bring them all down, you'd enjoy Lake Illawarra westerlies, but even if you only make it as far as Gerroa, give us a yell, we're keen to get there every now and then.
